oh god.

to be honest though...they are probably the best at what they do - commercial full on - keeping their cheese still somewhat psychedelic and original, rather than abandoning the psytrance base completely (infected mushroom, skazi)...and they are virtually perfect technical DJs

Hehe who are we kidding? GMS technically perfect? I havent heard Bansi play but Riktam comes nothing close to technically perfect! Ever heard Joti Sidhu or Dino Psaras? GMS could learn quite a few things from them. If you were to label their production as being close to technically perfect, i would agree with you - irrespective of how cheesy they maybe their production is some of the tightest. And they will be releasing some remixes of hommega & compact artists soon, that i was pleasantly surprised by when i heard them

well the 3 times ive had the displeasure of seeing them, i have i never heard a beat match.
Granted 1 time was a pure live, so that out of the equation, but the 2 other times it was press play at the begining of a track, and either ambient mix, or do the cheaters beat match, of hitting play right on a beat as the last beat of the old track droped

maybe they were too wasted,(which does happen often with them) or in shitty moods those nights, but they did not match beat one....

sorry paradigm and rajatrao, have to COMPLETELY disagree with you here, first having seen a 2 hr GMS DJ set at Full Moon Festival 2004 (where they proved me wrong as a skeptic, following maybe the best DJ set I've ever heard from DJ Mack)...then Riktam twice this January in Goa (the ONLY DJ there I saw who could beat match AND play around with the channel faders perfectly)...believe me, i know how to accurately judge these things by this point...granted their music has become much more cheesy since 2004, all i'm saying is people are too quick to hate on some guys who are seriously talented, have gotten where they are because of that talent, and have not COMPLETELY sold out...

i bet a few of your halloween horror trance (aka REAL goa) artists could learn a few production techniques from these fake psytrancers

anyone who makes silly blanket statements about what real psytrance is doesn't have enough perspective to understand what "real" psytrance is, and is probably in the midst of a personal "phase"

Hey Dan, I did make it a point to go see them recently, and I was quite less than impressed. I went from 2k1 being all about them to 2k7 not wanting anything to do with them, and you can say what you want about what the music I'm into being "horror trance" but to be honest from a purely technical standpoint, they are honestly lacking. I really used to swear by these guys but time and popularity has separated them from wanting to surpass themselves. I honestly feel that sometimes some of the best artists get no love, and as a subsequent, have to work harder.

Honestly, I want to see artists that nobody has even heard about at all... those hungry guys that just want to throw down with no particular care what people think... It may not be dark, it may not be full on, but they feel it deep to their toes, and that what really shows their spirit to me... whatever anyone else may say about it, they love it and will play it like it's going out of style.. I can always get down with that.           An Eagle may soar, but Weasels don't get sucked into jet engines.

Amen, Reverend

anyways...back to the topic

I'd like to see Furious most of all, even though I know it's impossible because of his visa/passport issues.....but with his newer tunes i think he is one of the best up and coming artists

also in mind: KDD, Gidra, Savage Scream, Kashyyk, Syntax Error, and any artist on the compilation "Power FX" by Insomnia records (hehe).

For people who aren't well-known, I'd like to see Interactive, my #1 Brazilian artist at the moment.

For musicians that are a bit more established, I'm dying to have Headroom and Commercial Hippies come play in the States. Bring on the Nano Power!!! Oh, and Panick, he would'd be dope to hear live over here.

- savage scream [japan]
- heterogenesis [argentina]
