IEK AKMH has an extremely well equipped studio, comparing to other institutes (i also know this for I know the man who set it up).
Also some of the best pros in Thessaloniki's market are working there as teachers (the sound engineer of Megaro Mousikis is one).
As for the "conne"... that is really up to you!!!
The "Conne" chance is given to anyone, (that's common, plain, simple PR).
The thing is to take advantage of this "conne", giving the best you got.
Is to exercise your skills and talent and learn the most frm the best or you have IT all already and all you need is just the "conne"?

Feedback frm ppl studying at the music technology and music engineering at IEK AKMH can verify my statements.

Man,all schools for sound engineering in greece sux.
U ll get only how to get rcording r8,leveling etc.
If u just listen to their commercial spots, its all for lol.
In your case i would spend al the money to best monitors, hardware and soundcard and a few books trying to understand what i want to do.
Sound engineering its not "ixolipsia" as they want us to believe.
Ask for the lessons u are gonna learn before give any money,i am sure u d be surprized

I agree with Iraklis. Although I've been to AKMI, i've been told that SAE is more sophisticated. I really can't tell, but I guess that If you pay attention and LOVE what you're doing then any school will do. What I know for sure is that, besides the fact that AKMI owns decently equipped studios, they let you get "hands on" practice longer than in other schools. I've heard that at SAE they get a bit touchy with their equipment. But, it's been some years since all that and things might have changed. If you've got the money, try to get abroad, esp. England.           Bring yourselves into the light

You have to put things into perspective.
The best thing about doing an audio tech degree is getting into the studying/working mode that the uni is going to force you into. A lot of people say, "nah its not worth it, you can study on your own", but it is easier said than done.
Bare in mind that a degree/diploma is not going to get you any jobs per se. Who you know and experience are the deciding factors in this area.

About different universities...Your best (or worst) teacher is going to be your self. No matter which university you go to, how much extra time you put into reading and learning audio equipment is what is going to make you, or break you as an engineer.
If you ask me, its better to put cash towards your education, than weed/drugs/coffee/more PS2 games/more shoes and clothes for your girlfriend...etc.
If you have the time and money, then go for it. Knowledge is power.
If you are going to do it, just to learn how to use Logic/Cubase and how to tweak and compress synths, then you are wasting your time and money, since simply by teaching your self and practising, you're going to get that stuff down to a t.
