It really depends what you are looking for.
Hamburg used to be the most active in the beginning, thats where Spirit Zone is from and thats was the center of that whole minimal thing around 2000 2001. Now there isnt really that much good stuff happening there, apparently.
Nowadays, if you want more proggy things I guess Koln/Ruhrgebiet is best, if you are into complete nighttime audio violation goaGAbba and lots of unemployed 35 year-old Hartz 4 (welfare) receivers with fuzzy beards and Shiva shirts, Berlin is the place to be.
But in the Summer, everything happens in the fields next to the highway from Berlin to Hamburg, the A24, also known as the GOA 24.

Well, I live in the Ruhrgebiet and you can hear the sound is getting a lil bit harder slowly. But so often we have to listen to israeli morning tunes at night and minimal stuff in the morning. For the real psychedelic flash I would consider Berlin.
There are also some nice Partys in the Sauerland-Area sometimes... |

 indeed they wear shiva shirts... but what i can see is, that each season the dancefloors look more grey and dark. people dont wear colorfull closes as like 5 years ago. i mean all parts of germany.

you are right, the colourful ppl seem to disappear more and more... but it is all about the feeling, not about the clothes... might be an effect of more and more police-actions after the parties and everyone will look more average these days... imo it is all about going mad on the dancefloors not in the clothing stores    |
