The music and sound ambience are a very important part of the game.

Which game do you think has the best sounds in it?

Those recent games had killer music:

Modern Warfare 2 (Hans Zimmer!!!)
Killzone 2
Uncharted 2
Little Big Planet
Infamous (Amon Tobin)           Everyone in the world is doing something without me

whehehe . that club scene..
wacky stuff they played in there...

Nice one by Amon is it in a game ?

Music on Katamari Forever is lovely..
(remixes of the tracks in "We love Katamari")

But yeah.. that music under heavy rain is very good...
if you watch the making of.. you see them playing one of the pieces..
at one point they build up to this.. . soft obscure part.. really nice..

I think that old and modern RPG`s often got the best music.Lots of waterfall sounds, birds, flutes, oriental melodies, fantasy ambience and nice sounds and song structure overall.
It is almost always instrumental and very peaceful and dreamy

absolutely ! rpg's adventures...

we used to have zelda games on in the background with schrooms..
Nice enviromental sounds and very beautifull music.
brought a nice atmosphere ..

i see, Infamous.. probably more as some kind of soundtrack.. thing..
Not written for the game i suppose..

Also alloot of 8-bit music from games is well composed...
Must have been insanely interesting to discover what was possible with eight bits in music & sounds then..

The Infamous music was written for the game by Amon Tobin and it really adds up to the experience.           Everyone in the world is doing something without me

My vote goes to Farehneit (Indigo Prophecy) by Quantic dreams (makers of Heavy Rain also).

Main theme by Angelo Badalamenti:

and an oldie but goldie:

           Peace, Love, Death metal
A.Rosengren
Solid Snake
