Atleast from footage I`ve seen...
The "Acid Test" parties in the sixties, with multiple bands playing continuously, lights and other decorations (plasma projectors, etc.) Were the forefathers of psytrance parties...

I think the people who were part of the psychedelic movement in the 60's had a different way of thinking, of dressing, of living... and I think the reason for that is that they wanted to change something, they wanted to show the world they were not happy with the way things were going... That's kind of what the trance culture is all about... we dress different, we dance different, we want things to be different too, and the music and dancing is the way we found to get the message through the world... At least that's what I think...
