no?i donīt think so...why did u choose 2 listen 2 thix kind of music and, 4 example, u didnīt choose pop?
maybe because u know 2 many things and donīt want 2 be swalled in the masses.
maybe u want 2 be different..not like dumb people who eat what it is given 2 them.           ...

if u were like thix, u wouldnīt have a clue of what u were listening 2!
if u were like thix... then 2 u azax syndrom would b equal 2 listen 2 yahel (no misrespect by the artists.)
u would only b part of the statistics...
4 any kind of music, i think there must b a certain degree of inteligence 2 understand that kind of musik..thatīs why i rarely listen 2 others genres...i donīt understand them...
and i donīt believe u are goon, dork and barbarian, by the contrary...i donīt know u and i do think u are very inteligente.most people in here arenīt capable of defending their ideas!
peace!

I saw Infected Mushroom at a pop nightclub last weekend and I saw one half of the future of psyrance there. I went to Goa Gil in the forest a couple months ago and I saw the other half of the future of psytrance there.
I think we will see more of a division between maintream and underground. Just like we saw with punk rock. The trouble is, in my opinion, the pure essence of psytrance will be lost because us ego filled humans will bend it to what we want it to be - full on cheese party scene or dark underground scene. Two 'scenes' with not much substance. It will no longer attract spiritual seakers or music lovers, but only scenesters. People clinging to an empty shell of once was.

But this isn't so bad, because this is what happens to almost everything. I can even say it happened with the major religions. What is important is to continue on your own path, not follow the path of a vehicle that you used to take you some distance in your travels. Another vehicle will appear for you and so long as you continue on your own path, that vehicle will be right for you.

But, I'm just guessing. maybe I'm wrong

think about it this way. if it is important to you that psy continues, then it will. you hear lots of people worried "oh no what will happen to psy". if everyone is so worried, loves it so much that they worry so much, then why should it die? it only dies when people lose interest, and clearly, many people are still interested.

so some people said in '93 that the golden age of psy is over already. in 2000 people said oh the golden age of psy was 4 years before that. you know what? today all i hear about was the golden age of psy of 1999 and 2000. some people consider x-dream's radio a foundation of psytrance - from 1998!

which leads me to suspect that in 2010, people will be complaining that things aren't like they were in 2005.

Whether it is a complaint or an observation (or both) will say something of the person and where they're at. Everybody has their own perspective. And knowing that everything undergoes a life and death and all the stages in between, there will always be something in psytrance at each stage, for some people.

we just have 2 look 2 the future and embrasse it with arms wide open..well 2 me it wonīt die!
and thatīs it..what we believe will prevail..
and rich i liked the part when u said that the division of mainstream and the underground..i guess thix is the way it is already becoming...
the real true believers "in something"(something higher and enlightned) will follow the scene in a very reserved way..but they always live in thix world..well i know i am!
peace
(the convictions i have presented here of religion and spirituality are mine..no one is forced 2 accept them..as i respect the other way)           ...

i think only in the future can we fully understand the present, but as far as i can see now, first we had "The PLUR and goa and beautifull and Shantiii" now weīre running into something more dark and underground which doesnīt necesserely means its worse, or bad or better, itīs just different and also the people who get into trance today seek different things than people 5 or 6 years ago, but thats just part of the process...

5 yrs from now.,,,

complaining about things and situations again

being insatiable egoistic and prejudiced

we might not be the "chosen few" but we are connected to sumthing much bigger than our miniscule selfs.

Intelligence has little to do with music taste. I know very bright people that like to listen to R&B, which to me doesn't even count as music (and my resentment towards it even then isn't properly brought to words) ... So, I think that's a load of bullshit. Dumb people could easily listen to trance or psytrance and they would still be able to tell you that Yahel is different to Azax Syndrome.

The trance scene in five years? It's going to go onwards to more progression, we'll see that the styles grow closer together still. As for psytrance: It'll just go on, as it usually does. In 2000 people were already saying psytance would be dead in 2001 and that didn't happen, so I don't see it happening anytime soon.           "Subconscious unravels at the point of death, and all time it has known erupts into a moment. As death extinguishes us, so we become it."

You see Acidhive.. you're talking bad about R&B lol... But that is YOUR opinion.. I like that style and in the right mood there's nothing better than it..

Above someone said "If music doesnt distinguish inteligence, then why some people listen to pop?"

Well, It's easy... For you and me, music is very important, and it's a essencial part of our lives. For other people it's just *music* .. something round that you put in a Stereo.

Its like, I can enjoy Cars alot, and know everything about the right engines and stuff... And I would never by a Ford (just an example)... But for another guy a car is just a transportation method and it's all the same to him. He just wants the first car he can get....

This inteligence thing got a bit offtopic, but I think its important to discuss it.

In five years from now, PERSONALLY, I hope I have my university degree ready and I hope I can get a loan from a bank to build my own studio. That's about it.

there are so many smart people who listen to trance and go to parties and then after some time and way too many drugs their intelligence seems to vanish...

iīm sorry daniel but i donīt believe the kind of music people hear has anything to do with intelligence, besides do you consider yourself more intelligent now than before you started to listen to trance?
