Well, if you're looking for something different then psy & ambient, try out that stuff:
Gilad Atzmon (Israeli sax-player, jazz but fuckin' emotionally strong stuff);
Bill Laswell (one of England's best producers and the king of Dub - check out the remix albums of Miles Davis, Bob Marley or his work with Arabian musicians - just heart-touchingly trippy!!);
Joe Strummer (frontman of The Clash, especially the albums "Global A-Go-Go" and "Rock Art and the X-Ray Style" - punkish world music, just unique);
Amorphous Androgynous (the instrumental band of Future Sound of London - it's the perfect advancement of Pink Floyd).
Andrea Parker (one woman, singing, programming the synths and samplers, and playing the cello - UK-trip-hop at its best, just like, or even better than Portishead);
Or Marie Boine from Norway, or Fela Kuti from Nigeria, or Susheela Raman from India, or Dead Can Dance from Newzealand, or Loreena McKennitt from Canada, or Jan Delay from Germany, or Sam Ragga Band from Germany, or Madrugada from Norway, or Nick Cave from Australia, or Calexico from the US, or Nitin Sawhney from the UK....
