What makes you buy a cd?

Well first of all I really don't buy many "dance" music Cds, excepts some that I'll consider really amazing, just because of the ephemeral characteristic of this sound.. And the ammount of releases nowadays doesn't help at all to change it..
But I do buy a lot of chilled, down-tempo music, because I know I'll be listening to these Cds for a very long time..
And in this case : hearing samples or downloading the stuff and loving them are the main reasons that make me buy an album or a compilation.. And this is true also for the label and/or the artists I used to like and the unknown names..
Because sticking to the names you know only makes you miss so many good things..
Then comes the advice of some friends I know we have approx the same tastes in music..
The covers are a luxus, in the degree they don't determinate if I'll buy the record of not.. When I buy the record, I'm very super happy if the cover looks good and meanwhile I can be quite upset if it sucks hard.. but after all the important is the music.

What makes me buy an album? Well, it's the music that counts. If I take an interest in an album I'll listen to online samples for quite some time, to see if I really like it, and keep liking it. Then I'll purchase it.

Good music inside.
Of course that if there r some extras,they´re more than welcome.......extras like,some video,bonus track,cd sleeve, special cover,etc.
But if i like the music,i buy it anyway.

Good question. For a start, having the money in the first place 
If it's an artist I already know and love then I'll quite happily buy a new release without hearing it. For someone whose work I am not familiar with, it tends to be something I've heard and enjoyed elsewhere; decent sample (Saiko), mix CD's made by friends or (more recently) mixes online, d/l of something that piques my interest or occasionally the recommendation from someone whose ears I trust - but given that I have hardly any friends that like psy, this usually applies to non-psy releases...etc.
I'm not too bothered about packaging or which record label etc etc, it doesn't really figure into the equation for me. |

i buy a CD if i like the artist pool found in the CD... Also, some times i place faith in my favorite labels, only to realise that they took a drastic turn (for the worst in most cases) and end up selling the CD for half price to a friend who doesn't expect this rational twist.. LOL..
Honestly, the CD cover doesn't reach out to me one bit nor do the extra's found on the CD.. A CD sleve is always more than welcome and is much more appreciated (by me) then expensive cover work or bonus video's. Ohh ,also pretty much anything with a Midi Miliz or Spirallianz track makes me purchase a CD..

the cds i buy are only techtrance..i buy cds cause i hav respect for all techtrance artist!!!...in a year we hav maybe 2-4 tech releases so i respect all release that com2e out...

apart from the love of music i want to own as many cds as i can afford

I will buy the next Infected & Vibe Tribe (Violet Vision) albums for sure even without listening first.Their albums have no "fillers".

Pre listening (at least for 1 month)
Review (less important coz i see less reviewed CDs are my favorites)
Actually i never buy something i don't know for about year or so! Music became so predictable and i found a cure! To test it with time! If i still keep it on my hard drive for year then it worth to pay artist and label! Thou only 10-12 CDs win that from me. No i'm not elitist who thinks his taste is perfect just i don't want to keep garbage on my shelfs. If i would collect something it will be coins probably but not CDs. |

I buy original music for four reasons:
1. The quality - compared to compressed fileformats.
2. I *hate* to have burned copies lying all around. It really looks like crap (Yes, I'm very aesthetically minded).
3. It looks delicate on my shelves. Also, I can grab my CD's, I can touch them, I can fiddle with them, I can get a hard-on by looking at covers and inside sleeves. And so on...
4. Well, you know, somehow, I feel that I support the artists, and the work they do.
EDIT:
I almost forgot to tell you, how I choose what to buy. And that's pretty simple. I buy stuff, that I've heard as mp3, and liked. |

I spend my money on cds featuring
Infected Mushroom, Astral Projection, The Misted Muppet, Hallucinogen Astrix etc
i buy their cds without any pre listening. *Surprises, just do it!* 
i addicted to their sound craft, even if this won't be their best track, i know that no matter what, they have wide musical background and skills to smash the dance floor and the twisted mind to create interesting trip in its best.
other than that, for new artists i just give a listen before buying.
covers are very important also.
