For me, some scented candles, some beautiful posters of nature or psychadelica perfectly lighted so that they are the only thing on view, wine, and a fellow chillista! I like to chill on my own, and my room is as above, but I prefer to have a chill out session with a fellow chilled person, and just talk into the early, early hours.

Well, for sure a confortable place to sit/lie down... Big couch, confortable chairs, or if its in a party, lot´s of pillows and a thick carpet floor...

Some nice posters, music in good volume but not too loud (some parties I go people still put the chill volume on maximum.. come on, its chill, people trying to sleep, others trying to talk, so take it easy dj!!)

If its in my house, some stuff to drink (preferably fruit juices or water) and a few snacks (sandwiches, peanuts, chocolate)...
If its in a party, then a bar and snack/food place nearby...

I also like a spliff in my hand.. but thats not about the space, is it? hehehe

some insence or scented candles are good too, but no excessively strong or agressive smell.. we dont want nobody unhappy there..

oh, and no strong lights... just some low tone lights, or uv lights maybe, but nothing too strong.. nothing too dark either, because I gotta see my hands when rolling that joint hahaha

last thing: rain protection.. I dont want to get wet if it starts raining

yeah... carpet and a huge pile of pillows... like a cloud to float away on..

a sacred Altar,...here we always make an Altar with crystals, lights, candles and sacred art...

insence and herb sweetning the air...

soft lighting.

a great backrub from a friendly stranger.

bass bins & subwoofers. Boom!

wonderful warm people that you can share the vibe with - mixing energy just by sitting near them and smiling. sharing the groove, nodding your heads to the beats and ambience

A DJ who is conscious tuned into the vibe or the room, playing great music at moderate volume -
for the benifit of the room, not for his own gratification. Just like the play muisc at a classy 5-star restruant..yeah... some DJs really ROCK IT in the chillspace and play so loud... it's uncomfortable! and if you have to shout ...it takes a lot of strain, and is just not chill.

save the rockstar shit for the trance floor.

I really enjoy listening to downtempo music after a nice party.
Driving back home in the car with the "after party hangover", looking at the beautiful colors: green, brown, blue, white . . .
and listening to some soft mellow spaced - out tunes . . . Just beautiful!           Live for the journey, not the destination.

a chaishop in the chill out tend, good deco, the eyes must be feed with a good deco, because you are sit and everything is under your atention, so i think a good deco is very important.
a good sound system enviroment .

Well as Perception has just said I think it's very important that it's cosy....It's actually a space you WANT to spend the whole night in, and for this reason it should not too small and it should have an absoluetly fantastic soundsystem the key to enjoying chill out / ambient music is a top quality soundsystem you have to be able to hear everything. I think a good chill space should have some visuals...really good crazy chaotic, organic, psyched out visuals that complement the music and 50% of the people of the people in your chill space are there because they've taken a little bit too much of too much,it's good to give them something to occupy there headspace. it's good to have a cafe / bar/ chaishop there so people can stay for a while drink and chat to friends and if it's outdoor it seems natural to me that your chill space should be in a forest clearing.

Nice music, 27C, a cool breeze, a hammac under a palmtree, the ocean below, and a good smoke
