That's fucking awesome. Definitely psychedelic. Then again, The Delta used to make psytrance, so that's very understandable.

Edit: My mum just said "I like this beat" hahahaha.

yeah that the main problem.

but imo techno have it s place in some trance parties..but the right techno. i guess many would like it more than cheesy full on as techno can be underground, dark and as psychedelic as trance..

+1.

The Delta's latest techno release is such sound, imo.

You guys keep debating genres. That's not the issue at all. Can we agree if you love Polka and you go to a Polka Festival (I am sure they exist) you would get pretty angry finding out they filled the spots with 20% Polka and 80% Heavy Rock (I know the comparison is extreme but still).

The organizers has to crawl out of the bushes they are hiding under and name their parties/festivals according to the music they promote and face the chance of not selling enough tickets. And people should be more aware of what kind of parties/festivals they go to and stay away if its not to their liking. Quite simple.           www.beatagency.dk

Or...

People should research the artists on the line-up. That's what google is for isn't it?

Fact is there's quite a lot of cross over betwixt progressive trance, techno, tech house and house so those people who are into proggy stuff would probably quite like all the techy stuff but might not have checked it out because psy trance is such a musical cul-de-sac that you get so sucked into you forget that other genres exist. That's what happened to me until one day I went to a festival dared to have other 4/4 music on the main stage...my eyes and ears were opened...

This year max cooper closed the origin stage (nano record's psy trance stage) and I didn't see anyone complaining...

Still it's very misleading to call such events psytrance

My point is only this. Call the events what they are and do not sell it under the disguise of psytrance.

Sorry for the unpleasant feeling, we all know that in all kinds of music there is lots of great stuff etc, but some times in the dancefloor of a psychedelic trance music festival and when on acid, I was looking at the people who were dancing on tech house with very slow moves and their faces showing a rather unnatural exaggeration of emotions... that's kinda freaky to me, but that's why I'd prefer to go to SOL festival than SONAR in Spain for example.

Out of curiosity - can you give some examples of events that have been promoted as purely psytrance, and where there has been played stuff like minimal techno or tech house?

I have seen/heard tech house, techno and minimal at a lot of "psytrance" parties, but every time it's been pretty clear from the description and the lineup that it hasn't just been psytrance, and that there has also been other genres on the lineup.           DJ pr0fane (Iboga Records) | Multiphase

It's too bad when the sound clashes at a festival, no matter what the music.

All I know is, I've had experiences at festivals when in a really nice feeling, wandered from the psytrance stage to some other stage where smiling good looking people were dancing very smooth and sexy to a very cool music and it suited me just perfectly. I later learned it was tech-house. I like it when psytrance opens doors like that. So to me, call the festival what you want.
