ok,i guess we have bashed the word "minimal" Around but what happns when festivals Selling the Psytrance Culture are mixed with Commercial Tech House...is it a Good Idea, or it Just Goes Against all the Trance Ideals??? i mean, in my opinion Tech House have it's own Fan Base and Community, so why mixing them toghether??? (im not talking about separate stages or Techno, im talking about TECH HOUSE.)

In terms of trance-state inducing music, tech house is more trance than full-on IMO. So I say bring it.

Actually I love tech house music, also progressive House. There is a lot of it, just like in psytrance so a lot of tracks can be bad of course. But if you search good you can find some really good tracks that can bring you in to a sort of trance state, just as in psytrance. This track for example:
As for parties, it depends. If your doing a dark psy party maybe it's not a good idea. But I would assume if you like prog trance like me, the chances are bigger of liking it. So it really depends on the kind of music and the kind of audience I would say.

Don't like tech or house or tekhouse or minimal or prog or prog psy - they all should be abandoned at trance parties because none of those styles are hypnotic enough to enjoy for long periods.
It's gotta put you in a trance and make you stomp your feet i believe. To me it's so boring listening to these genres, They all make me restless listening to them out at Festivals especially here in Australia it's beyond ridiculous no proper Psy parties with good music exist anymore it's very rare you get to see some nice trippy night psy or even full on parties anymore. It's a shame the scene has gone to shit.

I think it's great that stuff is getting a little mixed up. It's far more boring to listen to the same-or-similar bassline etc. for a whole night let alone for several days at a festival. Before goa trance became a genre in its in own right people used to dance to all sorts of different genres in Goa so the idea that music has to be of one incredibly restricted genre in order to go into a trance (maaaaan) seems like a modern concept to me formulated by nouveau fascist trancers who are so overly enthusiastic about their favourite genre that they lack all subjectivity or open mindedness. Boring!
Also why is tech house considered anymore commercial than psy trance? Is it because the drug references are more subtle/non-existent in tech house?

How boring the world would be if music would be so stagnant. In my opinion there's lots of good tech house out there - just as there's good progressive trance, full on, dark psy and much more (still doubt concerning Dubstep though ). Not all of it is definitely compatible with psytrance, but a lot of it is, if you're willing to be open-minded.
I'm glad psytrance is influenced by other genres - otherwise it would become stagnant, and we would all be still be listening to copy-cats of Hallucinogen and Astral Projection.
And to whoever said that minimal and progressive psy etc. can't be hypnotic:

yeah the music have to be hypnotic imo.. beeing techno or trance.

yeah but what i mean it's for example music from Tribal vision or Iboga wich (IN MY OPINION) it's a huge copy of Real Techno Music or Real TECH House Stuff, i honestly prefer to listen to the Real Producers with time in theyr'e own escene instead of Psy Producers with Tech House Disguise (Extrawelt and Minilogue are not inside this realm)
this is the INNOVATING AND OUTSTANDING shit that people play in the party's...
this for me is good tech house...
why we are playing tech house, if we HAVE Techno???
Digital Diamonds, Horns and Hoofs Entertainment, Soundmute Recordings and Boshke Beats are an Example of what Psychedelic Music & Techno Should be look taste and sound like, why that music is not being played at the stages instead of that crappy House oriented sound?¿?¿?

They are very hypnotic actually and in my opinion more hypnotic then darkpsy for example, which is not bad music either by the way. But it really depends on the person and the way you experience the music. Theres like 10000's of different prog tracks, you can't just judge it based on some experiences. I am glad that in 2012 I have so much choice on what I want to listen. Couldn't wish it any better.

maybe i m wrong to think this but first thing that come to my mind with the world festival is commercial... not really surpised their is lot of music not really hypnotic or underground to please the big crowd

See it is very subjective because i just can't see how prog-psy or minimal or tek or tek-house or house street junkyard donkey or whatever new shit is hypnotic at all?
For me it is one constant level the whole way through - track for track and even set for set kinda like a long constant Droning sound (exaggeration)and it doesnt get any more exciting than that or even less for that matter, just the same all the way through. Sure i can do 2 hours of it but no way 2 days.
When the drop comes in i feel kinda cheated with no real burst of power/energy, no wicked melody lines to take my breath away no crazy psychedelic eeerieness or spastic sound fx to make me trip out and no really high tension build ups with immensely huge breakdowns then another big build up then a nice High powered uplifting energy inducing final melody with a deep and high powered bassline at the end so you can scream you head off and jump up and down like a crazy person pppppppppppweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeooooooooooooow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1111111
Mainly when i see people dancing to prog the majority of what i see is people just bopping to the music or just hand movements to signal aircraft carriers down and some look like they have lost bodily function and are trying to keep in thier shit from falling out thier ass!
In my opinion Prog/minimal etc to me is huge crowd pleasing uninteresting/monotonous and quite boring, doesn't even touch the sides for me.
I like my Psy trance what can i say? It's a shame how the Psy scene here in Aus is - in shambles, it's turned into useless shit genre party.
Well the truth is that the is no Psy parties here anymore just Festivals that "May" play some Psy from time to time, they don't advertise them as psy parties.
Heck i would love old Goa from '95-96 100x times better than the shit they play now, but then again thats just me eveyone has a right to thier opinion and everyones taste differs.
I may not be " Hip" or "open minded" but i know one thing - i don't like all the music out thier and a lot of it is shit. The only way i can enjoy these parties is if i take a lot of drugs lol
Unless they invent a new style that totally blows me away like Psy did when i first heard it i am sticking to boycotting Festivals here in Aus.
If EDM can't get me off the couch and make me want to party and jump around like crazy then seriously whats the point?
