something incredible about idea of the party or just small things, that made a party beign unique and the one you will remember...

the one i can remember was in musical concept of drum`n`bass. and was held in russian undeground war object. it was about 30-40 m under the entrance. it is dificult to get in the place like that and partying there was absolutly incredible ...

+ i liked the concept of the Gathering 2002... paratrooper-dj running to the decs... :) very very good idea...

so your storyes now ;)

music-wise the millenium bash in cape town...

"SA2000 had been worked at for over a year, a joint mission between Max Lanfranconi and Vortex Productions. It was marketed around the world, and many interesting people of the trance firmament made it to Cape Town. It wasn't anything like the tens of thousands we could have had, but the Cape Town trance scene definitely swelled by several thousand. The first party of the season had seen an initial wave of travellers, and more poured into town specifically for SA2000 - Cape Town trance had a Woodstockian atmosphere at the time. Most of the top established acts in the trance world arrived to participate in this 3-day event of continuous live bands (djs would only eventually be called on to play on the last day). Merely making the event happen was a considerable achievement by Vortex.
The venue, on a farm in the apple-growing Elgin district, an hour's drive from Cape Town, was well-laid out and cordoned, staffed by many efficient and friendly staff, with plenty of well-demarcated parking and camping areas, a sea of toilets, showers. The rig, lighting and décor were the most ambitious ever mounted by Vortex (dig those mushrooms!). Several large marquees housed traders and made for comfort and shelter from the you-know-what. Everyone seemed to have a good camping spot, or a good spot in the chill-area, or a good spot on the dancefloor.
The first 2 days were blazing hot, as it can be in those mountains. Cape Town band Nagual started off at 6pm on 31 December. They were followed by Deviant Species, making their second appearance in Cape Town. Total Eclipse (finally back after 4 years) followed with a set of old classics, and Slinky Wizard (playing at completely the wrong time for their sound) made the run to midnight. Champagne flowed like Evian on the dancefloor as Hallucinogen brought in the new year, and, not wishing to break a habit, the rain also made it to SA2000. By the time Koxbox was onstage it was bucketing down and many people enjoyed the Danish meisters from the shelter of marquees or their own tents. Etnica, too, were victims of heavy rain, and didn't play the monster they had delivered at the beginning of the month; in fact, each band opted to play a celebratory greatest hits set rather than go all-out, which suited the event. X-Dream did their familiar rocking dawn thing, then came a really cute and funky set from Tristan. The day passed by; people trying to recover and dry out from the hectic night, but the intermittent rain made this virtually impossible. There was a great ambience to the party, though, with people taking it as long as they could on the dancefloor and then dashing into marquees to warm up with coffee or chai.
The second evening began with Medicine Drum, followed by the big hard trio of Psychaos, Tim Schuldt and Cydonia. The weather had lifted a little by the time Schuldt started his set, and the party responded positively to the loud shout of hard trance. Joti brought chaos to order, Tim Schuldt's guitar screamed, and Dino turned in a performance spiced with much more than his Cydonia material. Despite regular rain, the party rocked again from this hard session (for a few more days). Alien Project is on the schedule as having played next, but I can't for the life of me place them. Anyways, Dhya brought Droidlock out early next morning, the first time his material got a complete airing like this. What a delightful set it was, fluffy and twisted and perfect as a follow-on to the wild stomp of the night. This was the treat of the party for me.
The next act took this town at this party. Undeterred by another sprinkling of rain, the dancefloor raged a storm and Cape Town pledged its heart to Infected Mushroom. As with all the best music, Infected Mushroom was indeed way better live than on record. They were followed by California Sunshine - cheezy victory trance for a victorious trance party. Only after them did a few djs play: Tristan, George Barker, whoever. California Sunshine, weirdly, brought out the sun, and the party rocked again through a third night and onto a fourth day. The SA2000 team achieved their aim of bringing the cream of the world's psychedelic crop to Cape Town, and doing everything necessary to give 8000 people a brilliant time. Respect to them and their crew. "

nobody mention Burning Man yet? Not a trance party, can't even call it a festival, but more of a strange experiment with 30000 ppl in the middle of the desert in Nevada USA with lots of fire, music, art, no money, no time, beautiful sunsets and sunrises and nighttime sky filled with shooting stars......on and on... cant describe with words.
never seen, or experienced so many new things in one week of my life... check out pics at www.burningman.com you see maybe 0.1% of how crazy it is!
I could write about it for hours, but best is to someday see it for yourself. Trust me, you will not regret going.

I will never forget that experience!!! The lineup was out of this world, the vibe, the experience of the eclipse!!!! SHOOOWEEEE!!!!           :: Life can be as bitter as dragon tears
But whether dragon tears are bitter or sweet
depends entirely on how each man perceives the taste ::
