Also, a LOT of artists do it for the music and the art, just stop focusing on those that don't. Granted, with so many releases coming out, many of them sounding very similar too, it is harder to find the gems, but when you find them, they really stick out and they make the search all that much more worthwhile.
There is still a lot of good music out there, not less that before in number, but definitely less proportionately, which should not be surprising at all; it happens to any genre as it grows and becomes slightly more popular, there is more shit coming out. Some time later, this shit is what makes the hype die down, and only those that were in it for the music stay, as they don't care that the music suddenly became less popular. Look at prog rock for example towards the end of the 70s and beginning of the 80's with the thousands of groups making a very similar sound, and the people complaining; but some 10-15 years later, with so much less people listening to prog rock and so much less critics paying attention to it, much more of the stuff (percentage wise) became innovative and listenable again.
You'll find your fix Nir if you look for it.           Load Universe into Cannon. Aim at Brain. Fire.

i agree with nir, more and more nowdays acts sound the same, involving that boring formula of catchy tunes+vocals+house elements...
(the new Astrix)

for me,this is not what trance meant to be.
i say - stay oldschool,ya

I fully understand what you all mean and all i can say is that everybody is right because the scene right now is for money most of it at least but then again you still find artists who do the music from their hearth and soul and it takes a lot of time to get to the great level of creating a machine for the dancefloor...but as time passes by new artist will arrive and some will do the same so i recon that through all the times their will still be the psychedelic music that we all love and their will still be those moments of pure love and energy through the music in the dancefloor only these days they are harder to find!

I know I already posted about that but... one day you have a thread about the Psy scene being on the verge of chaos (mp3-stealing, corrupted party organizers...) with artists who can't make a living out of their music, and the other day almost everybody says that lots of psy producers today are in the scene exclusively to make money !

I feel deeply disturbed (once again...) : is Psy Trance a milking cow or a dead cow ??

mmm it's very difficult question the thing is you mention IM - Cities of the future now this is one of the ego driven tracks which is clearly made for money so i understand that you are confused man, the scene today is not dead and never will it be because there will always be artists who make the good music only you have to search more and you will surely find great music that will satisfy your hunger!

may be its because the internet ???

I don't know for sure, but maybe a milking cow for infected, skazi, etc, and a dead cow for underground artists... I wouldny say dead cow though, more like a retarded 3 legged cow.

wise words, my friend!!!
as soon as there´s masses of people involved in something, the capitalists see the potential money in it and the spirit gets lost.
this is the problem of being all too open and tolerant to everybody.
there must be some restraints, not done by people, but by the impersonal content of the culture.
there´s no need to bust out the ones who do not join the scene for the love of the music and the spirit.
- we just have to stick to our thing (musicwise, culturewise, etc.)
and then, everything goes the right way.

no censorship, just autonomous behavior will keep the money bastards out.
i, for my part play exclusively twisted psychedelic music which simply is too much for the "wrong type of people", which make them leave
i also speak a lot about psychedelic culture, spirituality (buddhism), sociology, politics etc.
this is all interlinked and bores the hell out of the people who just want to make quick cash

so, let´s just be imperturbable and calm.
we don´t need to do too much. it all comes as it comes

The same problem in Russia... People do not know a trance, they know skazi... Kill itself amfetam and do not wish to be improved spiritually. The stage is covered with commercial boom...

PS: Dark generates evil!
I not against Dark Psy, about against dark aggressions...
