I would call it devolution.I really don't understand why goa isn't produced any more.It's so sad for me.
I think that full-on tracks are all very similar and have almost identicall basslines.IMHO Goa is much more creative,spiritual etc.
I really don't mean any disrespect to full-on artist but that's the way i feel.
Nowdays i play progressive but Goa will always remain in my hart and i would play goa even today if it was produced. |

I also think goa is still alive , for some years ago , it was the only thing ( imo ) that existed , but then music progressed , more focus on more styles , more minimal , deep , and then melody again ,
Music is a process, we will also go back again to the goa days , but with better kicks and bass lines maybe . Just look at the popular genres , why think that things will be different for us , maybe the quantity of artists is smaller and thus it will take some time before we hit the same evolution , but im very shure that we will have some oldschool reviwal again , and ofcourse music will also progress the other way , becoming something even more technical than today . Originality , and new thinking is the receipy for this , but most of us wanna learn to sound like the others before we can evolve our own expression , Goa is not dead , its a period in time , as much as it is in the spirit of the music today . Everywhere spiritual things in music , mantras , titles , covers of cd's , Goa is very much still alive

just that u have to look for the right parties and need to know the right people ............
most of the secret ones are the most killer parties u can ever go to

It became Mallorca, lots of drunk people from the west. never been there but heard from people that it was no fun there anymore because of this.
Well well im not really the one to make these asumptions but it's the roumor i've heard and this was in 2001 i think.

Goa has been ruined by rich spoiled kids flashing their dollar bills. They have absolutely no respect for local traditions/religion or the locals for that matter. It's become in to go to Goa and learn how to say Boom Shankar. And it's become the dope heaven no. 1
It's long gone just as this scene have seen it's light of day a long time ago. |

i dont c a problem with big names dont come 2 anjuna. u can go 2 centeral\south america and see them over and over...
it didnt start back then years with big names, right?
i think the major problem with anjuna, is the bad vibes all over this beautifull place and specially in parties. unlike the rest of this amazing country.

Buddy, i agree that the scene got screwed earlier, but it did not die out. All the killa scene still happens & the commercial ones have the drunk f*cks all over tha place. U just need to go there with someone who can get things organised or someone whos been around.
Thats when u'll see the real Goa!!! trust me go there, just go PM anyone on the india forum, u'll have all tha details!!!! Experiance it yourself!!! |

I think that there still is a good goa deep inside cause goa is a place were some place become touristic but for sure some place will be there for people who look for something else! Respect to mother India and Goa on of it's lovely children!
