This topic sprouted from ADA's topic proclaiming his love of of hitech.

At first, I loved goa\psytrance. All of it.
Then, I loved mostly the style called full on.
Then, I loved mostly the style called minimal.
Then, I loved mostly the style called dark psy.
Then, I loved mostly the style called suomi.

Now, I love only particular artists, regardless of the style they play (if any can be pinned to them at all).
I'm very particular, and it has nothing to do with what style they play, but more the feeling I get from the artist and whether I resonate with the music that person creates.

Anybody else coming to that?            MahaRichie

BMSS, Phantasm and TIP fill my bag mostly at the mo.

Artists, ManMadeMan, Cosmic Riders, Symbolico, BrightLight (IL), ON3 all get aquired often.

Alot of stuff sounds too generic these days, but it makes finding tracks you find exciting more rewarding!           Global Cooling is the new panic for the masses

Definately for me its Dacru and Iboga records most of all. Really love the deep melodic stuff. Great to float around and dance to!            E-KLIPSE Trance Productions

I never understood that people are more focused on labels than on artists. Its not the labels who make the music.

But surely the musical philosophy of a label brings a collection of like minded artists together to produce a vein of similar music of similar 'feel'??

The artists make the music....the label chooses what it puts out to us.

I agree, i really gel with the sound of particular artists, however it has to be around 138bpm, not be obvious, have some melody and have some really weird bits

Btw...really liked that Elysium-Jupiter ManMadeMan rmx.....(is that you Kristian??) nice stuff!!

elizabeths posted this in the what are you listening to thread https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vzh-miPyc84#t=408
I don't know what genre this is but I like it that way Just enjoying it as a pleasant surprise. No need to ask questions at this point.

To the topic, I rarely bought CDs over the past 14+ years of this music but did recognize the labels that put out the music I liked. For example 2000 era minimal. Horns and Hoofs, Iboga, Midijum and a bunch of others. Today I like music from the TranceBum label and stuff released in Bandcamp by the artists themselves with whatever label they choose. Indigenous SOS VAs are good, for example.

But mostly, I find myself really enjoying artists I discover on Soundcloud who sometimes have maybe < 100 followers, sometimes more. For example a handful of artists who have or will be releasing on TranceBum. They are all a great bunch of people making music I dig and are cool to talk to.
And of course, ollie olsen is making some new music that's interesting and putting on soundcloud ( https://soundcloud.com/ollie-olsen/burn-2 ). Also fellow PsyTribe brother Barakuda is producing and coming out with stuff I dig ( https://soundcloud.com/barakuda/drones ). Also check out the one known as Gaysatanichippie for some new worlds (on Ektoplazm). I had a mix tape from this guy from the early days and it was the soundtrack for an era for me. So naturally I gravitate to his music. It's like I know this guy like a good old friend.

Regarding liking 'amateur' producers on Soundcloud: Production quality is something I was never concerned or cared about cos I come from the early days of hardcore (punk) where a tape recorder in your basement studio was all you needed to share your heart in music. I'm just looking for the genuine and free spirits in the music.

I just focus more on artists than in labels, as Ubar Tmar, Xenoscapes, etc.           http://soundcloud.com/cynodelic
