Just put of curiousity why does the OP want to know? It's funny that sometimes I feel like still listening to this style is a bit immature, but then again I find very little music entertains & stimulates me as much as the 90's Goa/Psy sound. Even the early progressive/tech trance style is very good. Even though I am able to produce this style though I find production wise it has very little interest for me. I guess I'm of the mind set that I like to make music people will dance to so I've spent the last decade mostly making techno (Detroit style) & deep/tribal house. I guess also the market here in Australia for Goa/Psy trances is pretty tiny and the older style is not popular so that also turns me off producing it.

Pretty sure it was not called "trance" 35 years ago.
P.S. About the same time for me, if you consider J-M Jarre and Kraftwerk relevant to this discussion. |
