What about a Psy Trance Wikipedia ?

Hi everyone,
I'm considering launching a Wiki on Psy Trance right now. This desire derives from various observations :
- My will to make a contribution to the scene. I don't organize parties, but I wrote a summary on Psy Trance basic history, and I'm still writing up bios of psy artists for the French audience. All these are good, but a bit static.
- We already have something pertaining to that matter, but in a slightly different approach : psydb.net for the records (or discogs.com which works more like a wiki but is more general and a bit slow) or Fusion Anomaly (general also, a bit messy, maybe not that up-to-date and I'm not sure it is so easily open to new contributions).
- Mister Use the Search probably begins to feel exhausted here for instance. A FAQ could be great but something more dynamic and community friendly like an open wiki sounds better to my ear.
So, what do you guys think ? Would it be useful, would you contribute, or do you think it would quickly turn into a big mess ?

To put it in a nutshell, a wikipedia is an online encyclopedia to which anybody (or registered users like in this forum) can contribute.

A Wiki or wiki or weakee(pronounced "wicky" or "weekee") is a website (or other hypertext document collection) that allows a user to add content, as on an Internet forum, but also allows that content to be edited by any other user.

I've done some contibutions on Wikipedia about psytrance. Nothing too bad though. Just to mention that it exists.

Indeed Mike A, there are already a certain number of good articles dealing with Psy Trance on the main Wikipedia. I'll probably write a few over there.
Though, a specific Psy Wiki could offer a design and some special features of interest for the community. I'll think about it.

great idea!
i think that the more we write, document, film etc. the more this culture develops and is accepted by people who never heard anything about it. and the more outsiders know about it, the less they fight against it (conservative people need to know, because they are afraid of the unknown and consequently treat it in a bad way.
i, for my part, wrote my diploma degree on psychedelic trance culture (in german language).
so, iŽll contribute to this site as soon as it will be online |

i like the idea of a wiki, but i'd like to have a dedicated wiki site, not something hosted on wikipedia. just seems a little more fitting to me. it allows for closer community, yet allows to educated the mass. it'll still have the same basic wiki layout, thats what people expect.
heres the deal...
i'll do it, but only if i have your word that you'll help out. i dont want to start this and have it never get off the ground. so, can i have your dedication?
