Hey everyone.. i don't know if others think like me on this one, but I CANT FIND ANYTHING IN HERE ANYMORE !!

Its not a matter of using the search either..

Why are there so many damn new releases with artists whom i've never heard of ?? Where do people come looking for information on the latest psytrance release? certainly not in this section...

Maybe there should be subgenres in this promo release section.. Maybe broken down into sections that resemble THIS :

- Prog
- Psytrance
- Techtrance
- Dark / Hardcore / 150+

or hell, just reserve a damn section for all these dark releases at least.. i had to scroll through 3 pages to catch some info on the new HomMega release .. Sheesh..

sorry for the outburst, but someone had to take the fall for this..

anyone agree?? or even care ?

p.s. maybe this same formula should be applied for the "Review" section as well to clean things up !

i'd moderate the sections if that's a holdback..

I'm kinda agreeing
but of course it's not always so easy to define the borders between the styles and to say which cd should go in which section...
so a lot of thought should be given to how to name those different subsections
but I support the idea

Yeah, it's a mess - lots of new artists that doesn't interest me. If I want to find something new, I look for something related to artists I do know, or ask friends that I trust have good taste.           LABEL-DJ @ 3D VISION RECORDINGS | www.myspace.com/djraider | www.myspace.com/3dvisionrecordings

clown, I understand you. However there's no objective way to judge and/or classify this still unreleased music. So they'll probably continue to be published on topics here.

If you're looking for feedback on releases, go to the Review Section, there you can find opinions about the latest releases. Also many of the lame releases don't have space there, because no one reviews it.

We think you are quite selfish and narrow minded if you think that way. There's a whole genre of trance you are actually "deleting" only because you don't like it. What about other people that are interested in it and like all other styles you don't? Maybe there are artists that has fresh, innovative style that you've never heard of???
Trance music has a wide variaty of genres and styles. In each and everyone of them you could find high quality music.
Hope you'll be more open minded in the future.

i think that its a nice idea but with a very huge BUT-

but think of the arguments about the definitios of the genres that we well be having about releases and of the genres themselves

and I think that for the spirit of trance we should keep it unified - we have enough seperation in our life already. its good to be informed about other genres too and not only the ones one is only interested in

I think It would be very Convenient to divide the forum to:
Tech and Prog
Psy and Full on
Dark psy 150+

There is a flood of dark psy which I have no interest (no disrespect).

some may have no interest in 'dark psy', some may have no interest in 'full on' and the story goes on...

i agree that there is a mess, but you have to compromise with the fact that the music is moving, the creation of a label is very easy nowdays, so the fenomenon of new labels, new artists and new, new new; will be here now, later and it will be a part of this scene wether some ppl want it or not...

You can easily use the search engine, or correctly said above, you can easily use the 'cd reviews' section for additional info, or last but not least,
you can ask directly the artists you like to keep making good trax so that labels will have interest on them to release their music in a more frequent way, so that they keep up the market and the competition...

i donīt agree Clown.
The music is changing nowdays, and the number of producers that are on the "dark side " has grown a lot..maybe we donīt see so many hommega releases cause there isnīt many releases..this is life..in a few years to come it wonīt b dark maybe dominating the section..
it is a tendencie, and we should not diverge even more that we already are.
i think the separation of mixes online/interviews/promoting artists/msn spaces etc, was a a good decision, but seperating the genres would b a very hard task, because there are many that easely identificable, what about the producers that are in the middle?
maybe it wonīt be such an efficient division.
i think the main problem is to identifie which genre is in what section..
and i also see that some people donīt care about other genres which is perfectly understandable, but i also donīt like some styles, but i like to be informed what is happening with other sonorities..cause what i like today, tomorrow i can dislike, and vice-versa.
so maybe havin all the music in one melting pot, is nice..so this way we can check things that usually we donīt check them.
and i must confess, i never had any troubles on using the search engine..since day one in the forum

why not
house, Prog and Tech
Pop and Full on
Psytrance and psytrance on its own?

or even better, leave it as it is since there are sub-subgenres like dark fullon, techhouse dark prog, and alot off ppl calling their fullon music dark while nothing else than just fullon.

Bad idea, tell me where would you put artists like Mood Deluxe, Psyknights, Sensient, Krumelur, Violet Vision, Spies?

Too many exceptions to the rule, too many crossover styles, some dead (early 2000 minimal), some not quite taken off (psybreaks), let's keep our own labels regarding music and just content ourselves with psytrance/ambient/electronica/world

How about this division:

- psytrance
- crap

I think this one will sort out quite a large pile o' releases.

On the more serious note, I think this division thingy is not such a good idea, and this was best explained by some of the users above.

Plus I would rather see some major cleaning up in the Review section. A great numbers of comments made there aren't reviews at all, especially remarks made by artists and labels themselves. Like I fraggin' care about some Clyde greeting another one... and so on...          www.ektoplazm.com/2011/panta-deus - download for free Psytrance.pl's 10th anniversary compilation featuring 100% Polish psy-music (goa, prog, dark, full-on, chillout): Artha, Sundial Aeon and many more
