We are divided in 2 arent we?

After many arguments with ppl in this forum and more from outside isratrance ,i've reached the conclusion that we "trancers" are seperated into two groups : those who believe there is more to the music than the obvious,and those who think of psytrance as "just another music genre" just like dance music or pop or whatever.
Do you agree and do you think that in the end both groups will survive or will there be this one group that will overtake the other.?
One last thing :there seems to be some sort of "hostility",more like a thinking that those who believe in psytrance being more than music are " inferior ".
what say you?

I'll go a bit philosophical on you here 
Yes we are divided in two. Duality is a reality in the world and always a part of our existence. But so is unity- so we're not divided in two as well.
You can think about it a little if you want. Dunno if you'll reach some definite conclusion (ppl have been thinking about it since they started thinking..)- but it might help you understand things better (or not).
As for inferior/superior - that was always a part of human society unfortunately. It's also a common technique employed by people who find it hard for some reason or another to face others/the world eye to eye. Just remember that it is their problem not yours

I believe we are divided into more than just 2 sides in regards to what you describe.
But, yeah - People are divided - We are all a bunch of individuals and theres nothing wrong with it.
Also - I think everybody can agree that Psytrance is music. So, the music might be different things to different people - that should not be a problem as long as everyone can be happy about it.
Main problem with this is that we talk together on the net, and in these debates people miss out on the details in each persons view... Many of which are expressed through body language.
It has nothing to do with psytrance as such that some think they are better than others.
This is just the human way, and if people hold such opinions of themselves that it influences the world in an overall negative way thats sad, but all you can do is proove them wrong.
Fact is, some people ARE better than others - but what music is best for the individual is something subjective to that individual.
Music taste does not make a man great. Just tasty

I never saw it as a "competition" where one group will overtake the other.

I am with u on that Shahar-nothing can exist without the other half .it just makes me kinda gloomy when i think about it sometimes,u know?
this music is really "special" to me..and to most of us i reckon,
it makes me kinda sad when i face close minded ppl -the ones who dont even take a second to reconsider their beliefs.I believe that we all owe it to ourselves to constantly evolve,getting better and better inside which will then result in becoming better on the outside as well!Ahh...

Unity makes us stronger.. In such a small scene, there shouldn't be so many wars going on between eachother.. Healthy competition is good for personal motivation, but unhealthy competition, like being jelous or trying to hurt someone else's reputation will work negativly for everyone involved..
There are so many different people that listen to specific styles of psytrance [for example; South African full-on], who totally dispise another simular, yet not exactly the same style [for example; Russian full-on].. That will not help us grow.
(please note my examples are examples and where chosen at random to proove a point)
So yeah, we are spilt up at least a 10 times over in the end.

You see this division between people in other music genres too, so why should psytrance be different? It doesn't really bother me. I'd rather break my mind over more serious things than this.

I think diversity in music is good! IMO it makes music evolve, grow and makes it more interesting. Of course there schould be a healthy competition but like clown said we shouldn´t despise any other style. Its all about tastes after all and if we stay open minded we can learn to enjoy each others tastes or at least respect them...
I do think trance can give us more then any other genre,hehe

We are divided in our hearts, yea.
but it's not like we're fighting to prove those who don't know anything about trance. for example: I gave up long ago trying to convince people that yes, Ticon's music is good and Astrix's isn't....

Taste in music is subjective and will remain subjective. With diversity, there is a greater call for compassion and tolerance to maintain the right balance. Just being aware makes quite a difference.

so the debate is about the existence of two groups of people, one pretending to like psytrance, but are not totally involved in the scene and the whole psychedelic culture, and the other group, the chosen one, which are committed to the cause (psychedelic music, with all its "garnitude")
I'm glad that i'm not part of those who believe that psychedelic trance will save the world, and our souls. I'm just a regular person who chooses to listen to psyhedelic music and prefers it over other genres. do i see anything more about it? yes I do sometimes, but then i wake up to the harsh reality of my daily life. but when i read forums and see how people fight over stupid comments and topics.. then i just see one big group of fools
