Hello again,
starting (or continuing) the 'best vocals' thread:
vocals weren't that popular some time ago, I remember I couldn't listen to any singing in trance, but now (as I get older...) I find myself enjoying more and more the implementation of human singing (in all its variation, natural or modified) in a track.

How do you feel about this (new?) trend? like it? think its crap (like house tracks)?

Most of the 'psy' tracks I hear with vocals - no one sings.... it's just rapping.

if the words have a sonic attitude to them, they might contribute to the musical concept - if the vocals have contents - then I definately don't like it. I don't like when someone tries to tell me something through words in 'psy' music.

Spoken words are something that I use to love in a track... but not for what it said (i don't care), it's just it's musical effiency which interests me... a good combination between the sample and the track will make it blast..

Chants are far more hasardous imo... as long as it's doesn't sound too "Pop" music, it's oakay... Reggae-like chants, ioastings, insane things like in "Save MeGod Rmx" by Dark Soho, or perhaps kitch-but-funny-and-well-integrated things are oakay for me...

Hey Hellen, hey all

Well, I love talked stuff... I love when u hv a proposal... I'm not sure if it´s psycraft or psysex, they say: we are talking about the awakening of galatic civilization on planet earth (proposal) then blow ur mind off... and I hvn´t found one single soul to say: nope, this is not the awakening

I think we should hv more of it... more mantras (I know there r a lot, I still want more)... conscientisatory transcendental blabering

I really love ur thread Helen...

I don't like much non-mod non-deepmeaning singing thought... Like on S.U.N. project's new stuff´s The Record-Deal (althought I do like the album) or parasense´s speechwork (althought I think parasense is some thing quite special hvng some experiences with them playing live in reeeeeaaallllyyyyyyyy small partys and waking up at their CALL... jumping up... TARAKASHI )

So yes Helen, dig human voices... when meaningfull, or twisted modified psychedelic blow outs... sub6 n Pixel's (???)(I'm never quite sure) Teder Beseder or ESKIMO´S DOES THIS LOOK INFECTED TO U (sorry if I'm loud, but some pp around here don't really like when we talk about the new guys, specially if pfff pfff fullon but I realy like the kid's music, and in this track around 5'40ish might be puted up for best sample of the year)

be gentle to mother earth, as one, find the light, strive for happines, call ur mom, STOP I CAN'T TAKE IT ANYMORE, take me to ur dealer, let the music be ur drug, share, do not share, share but with the right name, be faithfull to god, everything is as u see, we are but one, every religion one faith, none religion one faith, many religions no faith or of the such are all valid samples, as long as u reeeeeeaaaaalllllyyyyy believe them, and build ur whole concept around that feeling, point of view, position, whatever...

Talked too much already

if they aren t overused (...even if the meaning is nice ) i like it very much...it could "show my the way on the trip"...
today there is a overuse of vocals...i can t find the right way =(-;...if i like more vocals i listen to some chansons...

this "abuse" of vocal-thingy was a part which leads me to trance...there was much to induce/make your own minds...less boundaries...today, tranceworld is mostly killer, plenty of monsters and pain...if there is growling a monster, a girl is crying and the knifes becomes sharper, i don t make minds about a spacetravel, where cuddly ferbies are on the way... =(-;
though sometimes a monster is pritty nicy nice...

bomski           experiment !
make it your motto day and night.
experiment,
and it will lead you to the light.
the apple on the top of the tree
is never too high to achieve,
so take an example from eve...
experiment !

I prefer pure music, always. Language creates barriers - resolves uncertainties - defines and solidifies. For me it is better to absorb a feeling or emotion from the music, as opposed to having it ritualistically dictated to me. But it seems I am a part of a rapidly dwindling minority here as vocals are becoming even more present in trance today...

i like it when the human voice is used as a layer in the music, and doesn't involve actual lyrics. if there are lyrics, i prefer flowing singing to speaking/rapping style.

one thing i dislike is samples that are taken out of context. i hate it when a track opens with a long sci-fi sample that has nothing to do with dance music or culture.

But you can't call that psytrance, do you?

Language creates barriers

Depends which kind of vocals. If those are "aaahhhhhhhhhhhh ohhhhhhhhhhhhhh" then it's ok.
And english is quite an international language, especially in psytrance. And it doesn't have to be English, take a look at Bamboo Forest for example.

For me the human voice is one of the best instruments that ever exist in world of music.

Why???

Not only because the beuty sound of some voices around the world, but only because this instrument exists in all humans.
We all have this instrument, some ppl know use it very well, and some ppl don`t know use it.
Except the deafs.

So, for me is normal and natural the use of this instrument in some tune(trance, house, electro. . .)

Day after day i see more and more work by artists in the voices.
And day after day i like it more and more.

One of the trance songs that i like a lot with a very well record of one voice is "I see my self" by Fly Agaric(Infected and Hallucinogen).
The voice of this song is simply amazing, and like i said very well rec.

Hope to see lot of tunes with great voices.
