This gathering made me reinforce my conclusion that the american psy scene, in terms of production and DJ talent, is a constantly inflating bubble that will have its climax soon. More specifically, i'm reffering to the eastern US. We know that San Diego has contributed with some nifty output, but the East is evolving in a very nice direction.
Good luck to everybody, no matter what kind of psy-sorcery you're into |

The shapestatic set kicked ass, I was really impressed. Very trippy stuff. I'll be one of the first to order the CD...

Awesome time, awesome people. The venue was fantastic, great blend of energy between the two camps. Any place where the staff gets in and dances with us is right up near the top in my book.
Next time I'm bringing more sage though!
Thanks all... |

I think you overestimate the numbers of the psy scene in the rest of the country.. most cities with vibrant dance music scenes have never even heard of psy. yes, it's growing, but don't judge the progress based on New York City, the scene there has always been big.
  ..it's just another party.. |

as long as it's not playing 'Blue Monday' remixes at every party, it's all good with me.

Glad to read that the party went so well, and I was sorry to miss out. But I was there in spirit for sure, I started my set that night in Toronto with this same track that Monkey mentioned above...
Congrats to all involved with this party for a job well done!
@Dimitry...just wait till you hear the BSM bust out The Price is Right

I was talking about music production, DJs and visual artists. These things define the real scene out there. Think about it. If people hear that Artist X is playing at some club they will come even if they are not big fans of psytrance. But if you read somewhere, let's say-DJ Tool, Muktiswara Live, Shapetastic....you know that these names are only known to true fans of psytrance and only those will show up at the party, which i think is a good thing. Just like in SF, they are relying on local talent. Aside of big parties where less and less true psy people go, psy crews simply rely on local talent and it seems to be working very well. |

um, neither shapestatic nor tool are local talent... shapestatic is from N.C., so I guess you could make the arguement that all u.s. talent is local... until you try the drive or have you spring for plane tickets. Tool is from india. |
