hi
i moved out here awhile ago and in all this time have not come across anyone fitting the description of a chiller or a fellow party-goer, in chicago or the surrounding areas..
so what goings in? is this place fully devoid of psytrance and its followers?? or is there some special place or parallel universe to find u guys which has eluded me thus far?? 
my innate need to reach out to "like-minded" folks drives me to put up this post!
any info will be much appreciated.

I think there is still a monthly psytrance party called "muse" taking place every third friday in Chicago. I went to one in February and it was pretty small and underground. I think the contact you need is Dan, danefex@danefex.com . Shoot him an email and ask. |

thanks yo, for the info...
hopefully the muse parties should be up and running soon.. in the mean time i'm checking out the madison scene.. seems decent enough and its only a couple of hours away.. so i'll check it out.
its a pity tho.. back home where i came from there were parties almost every other weekend with big artists... hehe... kinda spoilt me i guess. it sure takes some getting used to, this non-existant trance culture situation..
what i miss most is sharing a phat one with some chilled out folks and discussing all the new music being released.. and ofcourse i miss wearing all my cool (or so i believe them to be!) skirts, tshirts and other raver paraphenalia in this cold windy city... hehe.. that i'll never get used to!
but i'm not giving up so easy and am gonna continue my quest to find a few psyheads in these here parts.. and if the need to party gets overwhelming i guess i could fly out to NYC for the next big ecliptic-event!!

aaah there seem to be sooo many people in the midwest just dyiing to party. ~innocence~ join the group. im in bloomington IN (3.5 hours south of Chicago) and this place is also completely useless when it comes to our trance. forget us psytrancers electronic music itself has not found any roots around here. we've been trying desperately to start some kind of a scene down here but its just never worked out. however if ur looking to share a phatty and listen to music ur welcome to make a trip. hey maybe if we get our shit together we can finally organise a party as i know many people who are just itching for the trance on a loud sound system with freaky people jumping around :->

We have just recently relocated to Chicago from Texas, where we were very active in the constructive construction of psytrance & downtempo related events
And
we hear you on the lack of psy/goa in this city.
It's kinda mindboggling.
We hope to spark a few fires in the near future:)
As for psy friendly peeps, bluespectralmonkey is right
Igor aka S.O.T. & Derby
are two great people...
We've had the pleasure of meeting up & hanging out a few times.
Always a great time.

that would be awesome if some people up in chicago could start a scene there, so that when i move back after college next june i will finally meet some chicago psytrancers. plz plz try your best and when i move back to chicago next year i do anything to help. |

am looking for people who would be interested in going for MAGE from chicago.. i can't make this trip alone!!!
i've been waiting for an event like this for a looong time (last three months!!!) ... life without parties has been torture!
