What's the most chilled stuff you know? I want extremely slow rythms, nice calm pad sounds and melodies, maybe some "real instruments" too. It doesn't have to be psychedelic, as long as it is calm. What do you recommend?

As far as I see it, the only possible answer to this question is:

ISHQ

Beyond chilled, above relaxation!

Brian Eno - Music for Airports

I doubt anyone can get more relaxed than that. Don't even expect percussion.           http://www.myspace.com/Hooloovoo222

When this has come up before - I've always recommended "Rainbow Dome Music" by Steve Hillage (Virgin) - a bit new age-y, very old (1979) but as chilled as chilled can be.

The chill Cd with Whirl-y-Waves vol 1 is very nice and ambient (in a mid/late 90s sort of way) & melodic - my fave chill out cd ever.

Some ambient highlights from 2003:-

Hesius Dome, the 2nd CD is gentle moving with a slight edge, very moving, inspiring ambient music...but avoid disk 1

All India Radio's CD is similar to artists like Labradford, real intruments, simple melodies, big space...where was I...

Of course all Stress Assassin's ambient dub is a must..

The new Mac Mavis- Gatefinder is an ambient journey, old style but what great melodies... I have this on replay....check this out 4 sure

Also look out for something called "music for a busy head"...its by ex Green Nun trancer Mat Coldrick

Looking forward to the HEALER...some tracks on Ease Division1 & 2

Aes Dana first CD Season5 is now a classic... the 2nd release was apparently more ambient but a limited edition so I didnt hear it .....HINT HINT!!!!
Also of course Carbon Based Lifeforms...

Any slower and you enter the realm of new age meditational brain wave music, I recently got this meditation CD from an importer called Synchronicity on One Heart with Marina Raye on flutes accompanied on synth...very gentle, like a river...have 2 admit it works...

What do you think about Ultimae? I think most of their stuff is very chilled. At least it's chillin' me.

Yep, Global Communication is outstanding!
Biosphere - 'Substrata' - one of the most chilled, organic ambient stuff I've ever heard, mixture of synths, acoustic instruments and field recordings (maybe somebody doesn't know yet)
Most of the works from Vidna Obmana, Robert Rich & Steve Roach are well chilled.
Radio Massacre International - especially 'Frozen North' & 'The God Of Electricity'
Subradial - 'Bioloophorm 1' - very good chilled ambient, slow rhythm sequences, warm pads, deep drones, some acoustic elements, one of my favs last months.
