Just noticed this on Arabesque:
-Diving into the world of dub reggae, Interchill's latest compilation ‘One Dub’ is ready to hit sound systems just in time for the summer season. From rootsy to experimental and from steppers to dubstep, this selection takes in the many flavours of dub.
There are islands of dub all over the world, not just in the obvious locations. It’s a production technique and sound unto itself and has spread far and wide since its birth in Jamaica in the 70’s. Now, people in countries as diverse as Italy, Poland, New Zealand, Canada and Brazil are all mad for it. Always a crucial influence to the Interchill sound, the dub forms presented here show just how far the network has grown in 40 years.
This compilation features many of the luminaries of the dub scene from around the world. The selection is heavy, deep and spiced with conscious vocals from reggae greats such as Macka B, Sugar Minott, Michael Rose, Luciano and Dr. Israel. Interchill favorites Gaudi, Liquid Stranger, Ashtech and Pushmipulyu make solid contributions, as do Canada’s Big Bass Theory and Poland’s Ragana. Manasseh & Praise and International Observer both give a taste of material from upcoming albums.
One Dub is an album to take with you on summer roadtrips, to festivals or to bring sunny vibes to wherever you may be. Light up the chalice and crack open some cold ones - One Love, One Dub…

This is very cool indeed, Interchill are right back on form with this one. Not a duff track in sight, proving there is still plenty of groove left in the dub genre . Should sell like hot cakes |

hopefully you'll find it worth the wait... it is more rootsy than psy or chill... and the liquid stranger tune is a taste of things to come... |

seems interchill is going a transition from downtempo and chill label more and more to a dub label. it started with talisman compilation that i quite liked because it was kind of a mix and now one dub is dub all the way, traditional style. problem is that i have been listenin to reggae and dub many years and after first excitment is gone it can really become boring. There are some exceptional stuff that will always work (King tubby, Zion Train, Lee scratch perry, Dub chill out, Scientist, Adrian Sherwood, etc.) but mostly, dub for me is backgriund music or dance music.
all interchill dub releases are mostly just nothing special for someone who has been listening to dub for long time. this comp is a good example. it flows in the background, but for me is boring. mostly sounds like i heard it already. nothing new here. maybe except Bush Chemists track, that has fresh rhythm, Pushmipulyu & mannasheh that are more musical. Second track is also nice, with good ragga work of Macka B, and Liquid stranger does the job with his massive bass, but not in a very interesting way. so this is not workin too much for me at all. It's nothing new and it's no great music. but you can nod your head stoned to it and enjoy, yes. |

>Bom Shankar ; know what you mean with a lot of dub sounding the same, though I have to say I enjoy nearly all the Interchill releases. I am finding most genres going this way, sometimes I feel like I have listened to too much music , lately I've been going through a phase of negatively thinking I've heard it all before, but on giving a few albums a second chance I've still found some gems this year. As this album has less of a psy feel than some of the others some tracks do sound a tad stayed but I always trust Interchill's musical taste and reckon this is worth a second try. |

hey bom shankar, you should give your copy to someone who likes to nod their head and get stoned. share the love !
our label sound is always in transition - it is the only way we can remain interested and inspired. expect more change.
the bush chemists track has been out for years - including them is a stoned head nod of respect to their contribution to the UK dub sound. some others have given feedback saying they love everything except this track...
i fully recognise that some dub cognoscenti may well be familiar with some of these tunes, or would have chosen different flavours had they compiled and released a dub comp.
I encourage you to contribute more than your opinion and to better my humble efforts - I am a huge fan of all the dub legends you have referenced. do a dub radio show or podcast and share what you have to offer. I'm sure plenty of us would take the time to listen to your selection.
