yeahh dude but i forgot is the prest for a BASS in vanguard not a preset 4 a lead DAMN ...
i alredy read the dark4ce tutorial and he says some dj's do the bass with vanguard... ? |

Use Wasp FM + distortion for easy n fas dark screamy sounds.
On vanguard i would suggest using any of the noise oscs plus a saw waveform with lfo filter to hp filter cutoff at a nice rate. Also use pitch env to create killarg gliding noizes.
U can also try lowering your Lighting knob/fader so it gets darker xD

the trik should work better under black light i think...

vanguard for a nice bass i found not that easy without to process it. imo.... but it works at the end.
BUT for Darkpsy i found vanguard is a really nice leadsynth. it´s pretty easy gettin some weired lfo sounds out of it and i can recommend most of the waveforms as pretty good for experimental dark stuff.
just try around, have a listen what one single waveform does and what seperates the usual from the unusual ones like the r2d2 or the comb/fm/am waveforms. IMO they´re just made for that sound you´re looking for and i use vanguard a lot for dark lead sounds. even cause everythings easy and fast done with that synth.
if u really wanna do that crazy "new brain order" sound, i think u should not have a look for presets. better watch good tutorial like Hands on SynthSound and go for it. you can apply everything to any synth, so vanguard good to start, but for really crazy stuff u need crazy synths =D
zebra and surge is my choice, im working on macintosh and found no more versatile synth doin really any crazy stuff u can think of.
Darkpsy & Hardware ?

but not that cheap and easy to get. anyway u can get the demoversion on their site or incl. in the SynthSound video tutorial. only limitation is monophonic and some modules missing. but more than hardcore to do the craziest shit u ever dreamed of in your entire life man *wouh* f*#kn shizzle i love that thing =D
if u dont know any stuff about how to get specific sounds out of a synth, really get some good tutorials. the one i mentioned is not free but really worth it´s money (*öhhöm*). =D
read about synthesis, FM, modulations in general and have a look for modular synthesizers or the onoes with good modulation offerings so that u can modulate any source with any target at the synth.
Cheap hardware i can only tell good about my waldorf blofeld. also pretty nice with a huge amount of modulation varities. pretty easy to use, u will learn a lot, u got huge FM and Wavetable possibilities AND a very low price at the end.
before i go on writing a promotion novel for others here, just wanted to give some useable advice maybe
