A good DJ can work around it, right Saturnia??? heehee

The album that drives me most batsh*t on this count is Galaxy, particularly the bridge between tracks 6 and 7 as the melody from 7 starts 4 measures before the end of 6!

One time I couldn't find a particular CD during a set, but I had one of my mix CDs that had the track, so I mixed into my own mix and back out again to play the track.

You'll totally be able to use these tracks for djing purpose...what Vince did was a short blend between tracks...so the actual track wasn't affected it just was an added in inbetween bridge. And by the way this is a very sick release imho

A friend of mine sent this to me saying it was posted on the 604 list. Not sure who wrote it but props.

Old school, yo. haha!

V/A - Portal of Perceptions - [Celestial Dragon 02]

http://www.sonic-dragon.com/cd/cdrec02.asp

1. Ishq / Aphrodite
the first time i heard this track i'd just finished watching 'the mists of avalon' and it was definitely a seamless mix going from that movie to this tune, deep ambience, choral blend of female and synth
voices, sense of stillness, zero percussion. gotta love an artist so dedicated to true ambience!

2. Makyo / Jasmine
classic Makyo here, beautiful chilled tribal percussion, soft female vocals, gently building strings , articulate synth work. a pleasure, as always.....

3. Adham Shaikh / Ohm (Transfix Mix)
keeping up with the tribal percussion & soft female vocals, evocative of ancient earth, a bit busier than the last tune, taking things up a
level, great flute breaks, this is a brilliant tune, as is the case with almost everything Adham Shaikh releases! taken from the album 'fusion'

4. Aes Dana / Haze (Celestial Mix)
more of the old earth vocal theme mixed with beautiful atmospheric sounds, a faster pulsating bassline, enter kick drum & rich fat synth
before winding down nicely

5. Androcell / Carribeyond
bit of an old school feel to this track for some reason, reminds me of some early to mid nineties ambient dub, a somewhat eclectic feel, crisp and sharp percussion and synth stabs.

6. Cell / Twisted Sun
sprawling fuzzy synth lead to get going, sporadic kick and percussion, building and then spilling over into a relaxing plateau of acidic chirps and dub bass, very short track at under 5 minutes, although it blends
so nicely into the next tune you hardly notice it finishing.

7. Androcell / Fungus Garden (Acoustic Mix)
fantastic acoustic guitar intro to this remix of the closing track from androcell's album 'emotivision', definitely a favourite on this compilation, great mushroom vocals and chants.

8. H.U.V.A Network / Rain Geometries (Solar Fields Remix). deep cruising humming dirty bass driven semi chilled, mounting edge and anticipation, builds into quite a busy arrangement of layers leading to a nice sitar and vocal combination. another favourite!

9. Ishq / El Morya
as with the intro, more true ambience except this time to lay one to rest.

Flippin' 'ell... Thanks to people like Androcell, Aes Dana, Makyo and Cell etc, it looks as though I'll be out of pocket this month... I just had a listen on saikosounds, and well - what can I say.. Quasga gives us some more dribbling dub, Cell washes our hair in shimmering shimmers and Makyo takes us to heaven yet again!!! We are blessed here in the chillout you know, all I ever see in the trance section is people moaning...

Can't wait to get my mits on this one!

This looks like any release from Interchill or Ultimae. What about varying the artist rooster of psy-ambient releases? Its either Twisted stuff (OTT/Shpongle), the ambient guys (Aes Dana, H.U.V.A, Ishq...) or the dubish ones.

I'm sure the music on this cd is relaxing, but getting the same stuff over and over is a bit irritating.

Although this compilation includes the best artists on chill out scene, for regular buyers of this type of music like me I decided to skip this one cos I have 4 of the tracks already on the artist albums.
However for those seeking a nice journey premixed and rolled and ready to toke, this is a fantastic compilation for sure...
