Point Of View
Dooflex (Israel)

Learning that the mighty Doof label had set up this new offshoot to address cleaner, slinkier progressive fullon sounded pretty far out, but it takes less than a minute into the first track, Psypilotís Pgeofu!!onptechtranz (sic) (honestly!), for this to make sense. The production is deep and expansive, and the sounds have perfect balance with nice deep squelchies (think Sensient) working nicely alongside fluffier topend tickles (think Freq). Quantizeís Strange Days has a vibe like an anthem bubbling under, like a tune being brought in by the DJ underneath a minimal groove. Blanka is one of my favourite artists at the moment, well looking forward to the new album (innit), and if Infinity (RMX) is anything to go by, itís gonna be a nice one. It starts out springy and sproingy before falling into a bad mood, chucking in some neat samples and feat uring breakdowns with utterly amazing drops. Its energy almost makes you forget that itís supposed to be a more progressive tune, particularly on the final run. U-Reckenís Tatiana starts out great, falling into a perfect groove that marries a hard, pacey rhythm section with smooth and floaty mids and tops. Easing and teasing like a good blowjob, it brings in a nice smooth vocode that sits under the rest of the tune. Wicked, you think: itís not going to go all vocal. And then it goes all vocal, only for a minute or so but itís a minute too much for this reporter. It absolutely marrs a perfect tune, but luckily Iíve managed to edit it out using Soundforge. Clever me. Blanka steps back up with VTV, sounding almost like dub with its deep reverb-drenched layers. Not his best, it takes a good long while to get going but once it does, the balance between wiggle and stomp makes you want it played on a big system, immediately. Mind Complexís Love Thing moves in the mist beautiful and fluid way, but keeping a nice outdoorsy Ďardman kick. The peaks and drops are pure poetry on this one. Zionís Sahara works right through the gnarliest of buildups, then smacks into a rather euphoric, hands in the air section, before shifting to a shuffled quantize groove. Quantum pops up with Blitz, which has a clubby and plinky sort of vibe to it, a deep movement sort of like shovelling sand. Itís got some interesting touches and Iím sure at the right time it would work nicely, but to me it seems like thereís just too many ideas in here. Finally, Blankaís Once In A Life (remix) and itís got a perfect, fat-faced groove which fits with psyreviewsí favoured sideways indie dancing. Gregorian Chant-sounding vox drifts in and out, while the other sounds conspire to squeeze out every last drop of chasing-the-sun good-natured stomping. A neat compilation and a very nifty sound which we look forward to seeing develop throughout the year. Fresh.

i have really enjoyed this one -
track 1 by psypilot is an excllent starter...
the U-reckon track is probably the loudest, clearest one on the compilation and stands out to me cause of its concept and ideas along with good excecution. Blanka's track 5 is around 10 min but i didnt feel it until around 7 min or so when i looked and said to myself, damn this is one long track. Mind Complex"s track is another one that really stands out_ reminds me a bit of some other artists but pretty unique

i havent listened to the rest yet ill commment more when i do

this cd is great! fully funky, yet lacking that all too common cheese factor... a very quality release that i find myself rocking out too around the house... my favorite is the U-reckon, also because it has a Depeche Mode sample and that is my favorite band, he he
the sublable of doof is off to a great start, looking forward to hearing more of these sounds,
peace

what a nice surprisei found in this compilation! this music is nice! i'm usually into darker stuff but this is fun to listen too. dance around, drive the car without your prain playing tricks on you. great cover design. super sound production and interesting , drivy music. without the regular chees topping. another good surprise from the doof familly. thanks and keep it up

i liked in this compilation all of the Blanka's tracks and quantize, but my favorite goes to Zion. after seeing him on action @ the comfort, i was waiting for his new stuff. Sahara didn't dissapoint me at all.

I also don't care for the part of Tatiana where it goes all vocal, but it doesn't bother me too much. The rest of the track totally kicks ass though!!

I give this comp an 8/10.           http://www.psylicious.com

POINT OF VIEW - DOOFLEX RECORDS
(COMPILED BY BLANKA)

I just got this album a few days ago and I can just tell you that I have found the sound that captures the idea of the PERFECT dance music. The sounds in this album are minimal-progressive yet VERY up-lifting witha lot of punch!! Canīt stop moving!!
My favorite tracks: ALL but a very special mention to Quantize with Strange Days and U-Reckenīs Tatiana. Super WOW!!!           See you on the Trancefloor!!
