Im at my job. i just had a 2 hour copy job to do. so, i set up my ipod, bose headphones, and jumped into this new release by ShamanFilm records.

Secret Message is dedicated to the darker side of psytrance, which is good!
(off the bat, know that i align myself to the Dark side of psy. I find myself bored at "full on" parties. There is nothing cheesy, uplifting, melodic, bubble gum i call it, about this album.)
this release is not for the faint of heart.

1.Xlya opens. I like her style. nice and paced out, great for an opening track. i find a hint of old school hallucinogen psytrance element in her music, which is good.

2.Polykaos- hard hitting and fast. if you liked there track "numbers" off of v.a.-tempus viator, then you will like this track.

3.Baphomet Engine- i have to say, i've been a bit disappointed with the brazilian duo lately, but this track was definitely phat. the intro is the best part!! i dont particularly like electric guitar in psytrance, they dont use much of it, but they pull it off.

4.Cannibal Barbacue vs Magma Ohm
this song must have been made with the concept,"Secret Message" in mind. i like when songs reflect the concept of the album. great track, powerful.

5. Blisargon Demogorgon- for real, i dont like to bring any artist down, but i really couldn't stand Blisargon... until this year. his album is FIRE, and this track continues the trend (07 is yours papa!) I dont know if he samples horror place, or if they both use the same source sample, either way, there is a haunting pad in this song i heard in a horror place song, i love it. the song has a great pace and development. sick track!

6. Kerosene Club- honestly, i was disappointed in this song. I have high expectations for Kerosene, and they didn't live up to them with this song. usually we get some "killer" lead, killer composition... this song doesn't go very far, anticlimactic...

7. Cymazz - seriously, This track is FIRE! Cymazz stole the show. around 155 bpm(i assume) he knows how to write a fast song without having the sounds distort. very clean, very hard, fast, monster track!

8- Wizack Twizack - at first i thought he was a little out of place on this album, but he surprised the hell out of me. still a tad bit out of place, but he steps his game up with this song. i liked wizack back in the day, but over the years his dark has been lighter with full on element (i already told you im all about the dark)and i've sort of lost interest. Yet, this song has a harder, "darker" bass then most of his tracks. i can't hate, i liked this track.

9. Silent Horror - fasted paces, relentless. its dark, but its all the fast paced leads and fx's that make this song very hectic. i like

10. Ruslan vs. Bombax - i haven't heard of these dudes, but they make it work. the bass moves around, from hard to harder to hardest. its a journey, and a great closer.

over all, i give it a 4.5/5.0
definitely worth buying. there are some KILLER tracks off this release you do not want to miss out on.

peace love light

Could you please at least add the name of the tracks?

Also you really feel this album deserves such high score you should work a little more on the review...

Decent CD. It is the usual suspects doing the damage Polykaos is cool but not even close to Numbers which was on Tempus Viator. Also enjoyed Wizack , Ruslan vs. Bombax & Silent Horror. Rest were a pity imo. Hope the next Shaman VA is tighter. Cheers friends

your right, i should have definitely put more time into it...
like i said, i was doing a photo copy job. the album sounded real good. i was excited after listing to it, so i wanted to post a quick overview. if an album does that to you, its worth noting it somewhere.

i guess it's not a review as much as it is a general overview of the album.

this wasn't meant to be a break down of every track, piece by piece "4:59 a killer lead takes over, 5:30 haunting pads engulf you,6:40 bass break, etc, etc"
i did not want to summarize every song.

i liked it. check it out, tell me what you think

its true that u dont need to write on every second what happen sometimes when i read reviews i am tired of 10 pages reviews u dont get the point of the cd i think smaller review but with good overview for the trax is much better then the long ones

Thanks for adding more info.

What I was trying to say previously is that if an album score 4.5 out of 5 (which means 9 out of 10) it must be a hell of an album, so it probably deserves a good review, otherwise it will luck a lot like you're only trying to promote the album.

I'm not saying to go into an extensive track by track review, but rather to give us a taste of how the release as a whole makes you feel, if it's good for home listening as well as it is for the floor, if it comes with a stick or a nice looking DJ sleeve with bpms, if the mastering sounds ok, if there's a fat booklet, etc...

Very powerful music. All tracks on the cd are so strong and energetic. Loved almost all tracks equily, but still got a favorite one - 10. RUSLAN VS BOMBAX- ruki zaniti. Good luck to you guys! Hope to see more music coming from this label and artists.

Killer V/A
Ruslan and Bombax are pretty kiler duo in this duo i have heard bombax's work before this one sure is tight !!!
I think keroscene club has also delivered vengeance in his track he keeps getting better loved the death metal vocals in the track, Cymazz has given some insane acid music powerfull track throughout and what do i say about cannibal barbeque and magma ohm the track has a feet numbing bassline very dark, great fx's and along with jigar shah's magic inside the bermuda triangle.

I dont mean to appreciate everyone but lets give credit where its due some ass pounding music in this compilation for sure.

Great one Shaman films and Egnogra ya'll have NAILED it
