This is my review to the 3rd release of Trishula Records..For me this CD is the best that come from this lable.

Track List :

01. Megalopsy - Intro
02. Mubali - Shake Lasta
03. Dejan Vs Shenz - Heu2
04. Dronebixie - Zo Moth
05. Derango - Implosions (Final)
06. Kemic-Al - Xifajk (Little Devil)
07. Derango - Mushy Mystery
08. Savage Scream - Freak Show (Evilcore Edit)
09. Psyfactor - Spawn Of Satan
10. DarkPsy - Elastik Darkness (2nd Version)
11. Megalopsy - Outro

Now lets get deeper :

1. Megalopsy start with 1:24 minutes intro get you for a mystirious ride and fully of sounds.

2. Mubali the SF freak start with the first track here,Powerfull track all the way with strong leads check the sweet break from 5:54 the become very weird and connect to the build up,after the build the track loose and
explode to a power tune until the end.Must say that it's the best Mubali track I heard..He will release an album On Trishula this year.

3.It's time now for Franch power..Dejan and Shenz meeting for making a track here..The real psycho part start in 1:32 full power brillent work on the sound there..Its a fast track but not sounding like a fastone..Great work on the level produce and the general sounds.

4. Christian with is second release also on Trishula..Is track start with a take off then a powerfull kick bassline mix Dronebixie dont need intro to make a fast gritty and psychedelic track this track will burn forest all around only one complanning is that track is to short, but in general this track is great Dronebixie is the next best thing.

5. Derango the kings of psy weird music is coming now.And this one is not less from thier psycho tracks fully with scratching sounds and FX fast mystirious powerfull anything that put Derango on the first place
of best psy artists imo..Check 3:26 what a groovy bassline with alot of noises that they bring from the forest what a great track! One
of my favorites.

6. Kemic Al the first Malta psy artists is now playing. One of the fastest tunes here powerfull this track is driping from Kemic Al sounds and uniq Fx. Great lines on this track,I dont think this track is little devil. When Kemic Al play it he is huge devil.

7. Another kings music now the name of the CD..Start with digital noises with low kick until 1:14 its become a powerfull creature hard kick..In 3:38 there is a great lead that is fully with psychedelic effects another track to
destroy pepole brains.

8. HAHAHA..Mizuki now with the fast track I heard in my life [158bpm] start with monsters talking and some whiping noises a huge fast bassline and kicks!!!!... What a scary sample in 1:29..All breaking losse and exploding your mind the track is full of monster noises, and scary FX..Mizuki will take you to the edge of psychedelic music fast,scary..It will give you to a really bad trip.

9. Dimitri is here!.A scary pads intro until 1:04..What a hardcore kick and a fat bassline the pads in the backround are scary as shit!!..Full of hiats spooky leads great breaks and another monsters samples in here!!..My favorite track from Psyfactor..He also will release an album on Trishula.

10. The last psy track here is from Johanatn from Portugal..This is the slowest track here [145bpm].I really love the intro with the kick without the bassline its set you to a trip with good sounds..In 1:06 the bassline is enter and I really dig the bassline..I really love his produce level and is affort to work on the general of the track and we can see this.

11. After beeing in outer space triping flying Megalopsy 5 minutes outro let you wake up and land on earth again..Kinda break beat track with twisted and dark sounds by the 3 guys from Argentina..

Genral review : I really loved everything that come from Trishula but this CD is right on my taste fast acid driving psychedelia!..The cover is great one scary like the music inside!! The mastering is amazing from Tim Schuldt really give the tracks more spice!! Another fine release from this german lable!! Keep up Thomas and Mouka.

Ok, here's my review. Originally posted in swedish at Mandarin.nu. Cheers.

Title: Mushy Mystery
Label: Trishula Records
Released: 7th of March
CatNo: TRISHCD003
Cover: http://www.trishula-records.com/pictures/mushymystery.jpg

It's time to experience the many horsepowers who conceals under the hood of Trishula Records latest release, a compilation who does look interesting, at least if you judge the book by its cover. We have gotten, at this stage, used to hear Trishula Records deliver pumping nightmusic and this release continues in full like a rocket in the same direction. Worth mentioning before we starts to go through the tracks is the cover's boring cosmetics. It feels stiff and strained, and it is for certain not experienced as something who can be associated with the disc's title. Where is the red trace?

So let's see what hides on the disc...

01 – Megalopsy - Intro (01:24)
Megalopsy's way to deliver Argentinian stories is something that I've previously found interesting, but this short intro is not something extraordinary. It does serve it's function, but does not do anything in addition to that.

02 – Mubali – Shake Lasta (08:53)
Mubali from U.S.A. allows you to be enriched by his soundscape, and it's groovy from the beginning to the very end. It invites you for some heavily distorted melodies and it's a some kind of action during the whole time of the track, but it doesn't really feel like a completing journey who contains a red trace. At some moments, it does feel a bit well segmented and the track's development isn't really dressed up in a such innovative and creative pyjamas. The conclusion is that the track is enough braindead to make people scream and shake their hips on the dancefloor but that's where it stays, it won't follow me to my home this night.

03 – Dejan & Shenz – Heu2 (07:28)
It's french on the menu, and it makes an excursion into more trippy environments who's blended by minimalistic grooves. The track has some moments where it does feel like a development is possible, a development into something big that would run you over. But it feels like they keep some of the energy in the machine left, and never goes full explosion madness. Instead there's room for more playful rhythms and excursions. I think a bit of how I felt during the listeningsession of Mubali's delivery on the track, and I experience something that is a bit of the same here. It's full groove madness, but it's still just braindead enough to be experienced at a dancefloor.

04 – Dronebixie – Zo Moth (06:12)
It jolts pretty well when Danish Dronebixie grabs the controls of the levers, and this track is ten times as good as the performance Dronebixie delivered on Trishula's debut compilation, Ignis Fatuus (TRISHCD001). If someone forces me to describe this track with three words, I would say playful, trippy and funky. You can definitely feel that's some soul is weaved into this track, a track who satisfies both my ears at home as well as they satisfies my muscles (ha!) at the dancefloor.

05 – Derango – Implosions (07:31)
Our Swedish freaks Jens and Ola gives us a real lession here in diversed bassline games, and the track is certainly a different product from Derango. You do not necessarily have to like this track even though you might have a special liking about Derango's previous stuff, because that's how different this track is. Jens and Ola demonstrates their creative width and we're brought onto a real groovy journey, who is a bit flat during some moments. Sure, there is some true elements of Derango here and there in this track, but Derango is still really breaking some new grounds in nightmusic, something they show perfectly here.

06 – Kemic-al – Xifajk (Little Devil) (08:07)
Let go of your consciousness and let Kemic-al guides you through eight meaningless mediocre minutes dedicates to the sign of dwell. Practice your ears to be top notch to the summer, so they are alert on the festival when to shut off or when to be turned on - this is a good example of when your ears are learning when it's time to let go and turn off. My ears turned off quickly, since I discovered myself being fed with the same boring leads over and over again, who offers as much imagination and creativeness as there is potatoes growing on wings of airplanes in Malta.

07 – Derango – Mushy Mystery (07:56)
If you got a special liking to the soundscapes of Derango you will definitely jump up high the moment you hear this. Hold your hat as the journey takes off through bizarre environments of sound who definitely has no contact what so ever with anything that could be associated with patterns and segments. I wouldn't claim this track being the best track ever from Derango, but Derango's lowest level of quality is high and they put a superb qualitystamp on this package. Bite your lip, it's time to flip out!

08 – Savage Scream – Freakshow (Evilcore Edit) (09:21)
The disc has reached is topspeed when the BPM is pitched up somewhere well above 150 and I do feel that this is going a bit too fast, even for me. Here you're offered a rich range of sweeps and twists for he/she who has a heart beating for tripped out excursions, and during the journey this Japanese delivery will beat you to pieces with its frustrated aggressiveness. Note that pills against nausea are well to have at hands in case you are a sensitive listener!

09 – Psyfactor – Spawn Of Satan (08:09)
On the 9th track of the compilation I do find the gold piece of this compilation. Dimitry Korablin from Russia invites you to a nightmare experience who leads you through sick aggressive envirionments, filled with cold atmospheres and mean melodies. This track is a piece to experience! Russian psytrance when it's performing best.

10 – Darkpsy – Elastik Darkness (2nd Version) (07:05)
I still got a smile upon my lips after Psyfactor's treatment of my ears, and the time's on for Darkpsy to take tone and present his material from Portugal. I'm afraid that this track does feel like a real second-rater and it totally lacks spirit and soul. It feels hollowed out and impersonal, but once again this is surely a track that is braindead enough to serve well at the dancefloor but it ain't going to do anything more besides that.

11 – Megalopsy - Outro (05:41)
It's time to cut the rope for now, and we do that with an outro served by Megalopsy. It's an OK outro, but it still feels like a b-side from the production of their album. We've heard this before, but better - on their own debut album.

Summary
After a number of listeningsessions I do feel that I've succeeded to melt everything that this piece has to offer and give. I found it easy to tune in to this piece, but I still found some ear candy every here and there through each session of analyze. Judging the journey, it feels like it's well built and it keeps an OK quality right through except for the disc's 6th and 10th ingredience. I'm afraid though that I only feel that Dronebixie and Psyfactor are those who stands out from the crowd on the compilation. For example, Derango's performances are well OK, but it still nothing that welds on to your brain for the rest of the day. All though, if you're looking for mean music for the night, this could be a good option to think of for future record purchases.

My favorite tracks are by far the 4th and the 9th.

after 2 fantastic releases from Trishula, here comes the 3rd release, continuing the tradition of real psychedelic music. Derango and Savage Scream (crazy stuff!!) are a real blasters, but as a big fan of the melodic dark trance (Penta, Xenomorph, R.A.M, Megalopsy, etc.) my favorites here are definitley Psyfactor (he does'nt fail- looking forward to his upcoming album!) and Darkpsy- perfect ending for me and it blends good with Megalopsy's outro.
well done Thomas and the Trishula Crew, i believe your'e gonna have an interesting summer
