second output of finnlands Cosmic Theatre headed by Dj Anar was highly awaited here, as
I already enjoyed the first compilation a lot. just looking at the line up makes me hoping the contributons will trip me out.
the first comes by a project called Hutti Heita, which i never noticed before and starts "Wizard of Qua Qua" with a gong .. some ethic deep voices and a growl before it starts to roll out .. and it does not loose time to hop in .. a smart rolling groove, a few weird lines in the backround and sharper bites garnished by some ripping acids sketching a nice beginner for this cd ..
and right on second stage Monno, one part of the Grapes of Wrath appears here as Onkel Dunkel, delights me with this typical jumping baseline and the groove forces me to move on .. the percussions are definitely grapeslike and the whole thing pushes you forward as you love it from these danish
freaks ... always smooth changes with just a little element more to kick you .. long layered loops as well as short putted acidbites or massive leads to hit you from all sites .. lovely track!
Jahbo gave "Trummel Fummel" a very groovy touch from beginning .. in his manner he builds up a massive tripped out gem here .. so unsuspicious it begins, that far away you found yourself after!... some spooky atmospheres prepare for the moment he fully has ur attention and pleases you with the kick! .. heads down and rock on .. sharp morphed samples culminate with some melodish
highpitched sounds ... and there we are .. a typical jahboatmosphere i was loving him from beginning for ... tripped out mushroom psy with damn playful attitudes ...
from finland Eraser and Yojolka cant miss on here and so "Arraknophobia" also does not waste any time to find the right groove .. and hell they did .. from the start up I am catched in the funky world of the fins .. this is a massive sunshine freakout goodie ... very intelligent build up with
quit a lot of percussions and leads, but alternating adeptly till the very end .. and as we know it from the very north we have a healthy dose of funk in here too .. lovely jumping shouting it out loud to the crowd burner .. for sure works brilliant on the floors!
Zoolog also appeard from time to time with some special contributions, and so he is doing it here .. danish like groove and some sharp acids setting up you for a weird tripped out gem .. its a deep one, with lots of changes and many samples to enjoy...no useless breaks are too long trying to build up any tension, he dont need to do this .. he has ur full attention and guide you into his realms of chaos .. and with growlings in the back, nasty bites in the face he releases you after in spirals .. woah!

Encephalopaticys is Dj Vasermann from Mazedonia. I am just back from a festival where he played with his friends Atriohm, and hell they did us a so damn fucking killer night .. his tracks are pure
psychedelica to me .. bewitching loops on a deep rolling groove with crumbling acids build up a massive atmosphere from beginning. there are just little elements he needs to kick u further and further ...
he uses his samples patiently to unfold them later in full effect .. you here how nmuch effort he puts into his work and I appreciate it so much ... at least in the last few minutes he holds u in his hands and plays his trippy games with you ... this is music for the night .. for the tripped out nation, this is brilliant stuff ..
I never heard Vivasvan before and on the cd itself i cant find any further information .. A more kicking base starts a cool track unfortunately becomes a bit melodic after i was kicked by the percussions coming in ... original atmospherics and in the end it is too much sun for my taste as it starts quit trippy ...
too cheesy for my taste, but i can imagine in the hot sun this works very killer on any floor anyway!
again an artists name is new to me .. Glooex .. the synth from beginning i dont like and it prepares me for a track to come supponsingly is even more cheesy than the one before .. and yes .. this i dont like so much .. it has atmosphere yes, but nothing thrills me here .. a decent groove .. but leades into nothing in the end also
The end of this fucking killer disc seemed to be a very interesting combination to me .. fins meeting Aaron .. and yeah .. the finish funk is noticable from beginning .. and the long layered lines for sure builded by Aaron coming quit funny in this funk attack .. the samples and sharp percussions build up again a freaking out on sunday
noon goodie and makes it to a wonderful finalization for this remarkable compilation.
what a killer job Dj Anar did here .. me personally found at least three tracks to play in my recent sets and with his careful view on different attitudes he builded up a very proper journey everybody should like just loves intelligent made psytrance.
I did .. I still do ...

i like very much the collaboration beteween the mecedonian ..morning melodies with goa flawour..
Encephalopaticiys - Sumava therapy track also its killer pure pure and pure music =)
a`lso i find interesting the collaboration between Eraser vs Yöjalka & Ocelot the goa in the middle mades track so unique style
btw.. Dj Anar made good job

Very interesting release...lots of good twistedness, plus some funky grooviness from evsy, which I do find to still have more punch than their album, and the beautiful atmospheres in glooex. I'm very happy to see artists making tracks like this, and it rounds out an overall great comp, imo.

Well, "Lords" -album is a story about what we wanted to create at that time, more comfortable music at last, but now on our little evolution story we´ve found the will again to make fast and crazy tunes too, so stay alert for the tracks from EvsY -base!
Compilation releases coming in forthcoming months on french Apoxina, israeli Spiral Dynamics and Antti`s Cosmic Theatre at least. |
