well it's your music jiga, you can chose......but i think it wasnt such a good step to provide this particular track fro free download....since it now is released as a vinyl....wouldnt it have been better if u selected another track for free download? cheers, R.           Anakoluth A Pebble in Your Eardrum's Shoe since 2001!

it may seem like a strange decision at first, since "Future" will be released on "Trance N Roll" 12" B side.
I'm not too worried about it.
DJ's who play vinyl will get it on vinyl, DJ's that can't afford it will play it from a burnt CD, whether I give it for download or not !

Restrictions and "copy kills music" slogans don't help sales anyway.
Giving some trax for free means more people listen to more music.
Artists can benefit from a wider demand for their performance
and as for Record labels and shops - i believe that paradoxically sales could increase from such an action !

The MP3-copy topics in this forum led me to examine my conflicts about this issue.
As an artist & label owner, i switch opinions about it, according to the roll i perform.

As Analog Pussy i believe music should be free. I put my feelings in the music.
So how much cost happiness or Pain?
When i release a track it is no longer my own. It belongs to the people who care to listen to it.

As AP Records i disagree with myself. The label’s only income is CD sales. Label has expenses, and needs to pay other artists too.

i realize now, Music copy is neither good or bad. It is simply there and is a part of the modern world.
The question is what do i DO about this. And i decided to be an active part of it.
Here’s my first step – sharing my favorite unreleased track, full length and quality from my next album (no release date yet)
You can download it and copy it to whomever you like with a personal permission from me !

I have some of your material on vynil and im very impressed . for me i would love to own ur new promo on vynil if you doin any ....asfor me i play vynil rarely do i play cd's .....

but there is a great danger of those who might see your blessin for downloadin it
re edit it ..... and put it out as there own ....and cashin in on there re redit instead of ur own genuine production as i know someone already has re-edited astrix - solaris and charted it in there own dj chart

Very very nice.

I see your style is changed. I've been listening to your music since the begining and I like each change.

Though I'd be happy to hear some more minimal tunes

I personally very much loved the minimal "phaze".

I think it's because if everyone had your live set, they could just put a cardboard picture of Analog Pussy and play the mini disc at parties. Don't feel closed minded because you said no. You are protecting yourself as well as everyone else who enjoys your music.

If you make no money, you can't make music. If eveyone in the world thought like you, there would be no need need for capitalism, but that's not the case. So, you have to protect yourself.

Just as if you saw a guy in a bank with a gun and you went in anyway thinking everyone should hold themselves to your ideas and values. Some people just don't think about others the way you do and only bow down to making the next dollar or getting something for free, but never want to contribute in anyway.

on that note, i think electricity should be free... i have never seen it and yet i pay for it everyday.

i disagree with you completely binary_me. i think this is a job just like any other job and that = pay, it just so happens that 99% of the workers love what they do for a living.           "On the other hand, you have different fingers."

karma = giving and taking = rules of our universe

give music take money

take music give love

give love = give money

money can also be looked at as a creative energy of peoples efforts... its not always bad.. depends on the situation and motivation.. its a medium of transfer of work/love ..it could be greedy money or loving money .. state of mind makes a difference..
walking on the thin line between giving free music and charging obsessively to make music sales is the key i guess...

and jiga u have shown that you can be both...
there is no reason to feel guilty for saying no to someone recording your set and also no guilt for charging for cd's ... you gave something from your self and made the music.. now u deserve the money for it...

by doign so and giving your music for free you have managed to self promote yoruself.. but i guess it wasnt intended in that way. by giving you're getting..

i agree in the way u see ...its just like any other job....job=payment ....but this is my perspective.....

hence i used the term "someways" ...music i will always feel should be passed on ....like the old times(i haven't seen the old times tho) .....its just some ppl misuse it ...sell what has been passed on ...it sucks ....plus....i feel something that i really love i would not charge for it ....like jiga said...the sentimental value is lost .....

to make money .....play in parties/make music for masses(commercial music) ...remixes ....loads of options...
