This is for me the ultimate introduction to trance to people that has no clue about what it is all about- there is so much feel and so much music iside this album that it's impossible not to fall in love with it (open mind is still required of course).

it's exactly what i think. this album is the best way to hear what trance is all about. .anyway how it was. it gives u a real sense of the nature. and develope as a story.

it's a must.

This was the first trance cd I ever bought in 1995 and still occasionally play Cactus now. If you want to hear another genre defining CD from a similar time, try 'Tripomatic Fairytales' by Jam and Spoon classic stuff.

Also check out a track on Platipus called Now & Zen by Quietman.

Since I believe a question was asked (and this should be in the DJs/Artists section), I'll answer it.

Union Jack are Simon Berry (The Art of Trance) and Claudio Guissani, both of the founders of Platipus Records. Union Jack is the "flagship" act of this label, bringing us some of the most classic tracks in melodic trance. The label has since moved to high quality clubtrance, but on their compilations you can still find some melodic psychedelic trance by Union Jack, The Art of Trance and MWNN. But something of their music is lost nowadays - their music is much less freeform in it's attitude IMO.

Hope I've been of some help.

Yes, also the solo project of Claudio is "TERRA FERMA", he release an album with Platipus.....they start in a really good way, and "Two Full Moon an a Trouth" is a CLASSIC track without any doubt, but after his succes with the "Children" track, they start to explode the comercial side of this mellow trance, one funny thing , is , in the radio stations of spain, they call this style DREAM MUSIC.

i wrote to them a couple of years back asking if there was going to be any more Union Jack stuff, and it just so happened that my email was the 15th one of the day (or something) and as a result I won one of their new CD's. I think they mentioned that they weren't going to do anything else like it, instead they were going to explore different musical teritory.
