I am sure i am not the only one who has noticed a shortage of quality artists these days.
Any nu-wave psy-trance artists from the UK we can expect in the near future?
If so, do we need a new label to represent them?

All my favorite UK psy artists are veterans, didn't hear ages any good new UK artist.
All the same Twisted/TIP gang, and Cosmosis/Quirk satellites

weeeell, the only new english psy act i have heard of this year is prodigal sun - whose 'twisted harmonics' album came out in march or smthing.. i haven't heard it though, but i think someone told me its quite good.
then there are a few acts like electric melon who haven't really got anything into the main psy stream yet.. and then there are the others... (  ) who i can report "are working on it"  . perhaps a new label would rejuvinate the uk scene slightly, but you'd need to be sure of getting a decent number of quality demos etc...
tangentially related i should pt out that unconcious collective of fluorostani transcendece fame (reliably informed that this was flying rhinos best selling ever record for a long time after its release - i'm not suprised) are going to be releasing new stuff soon - check the tribe of frog thread for where you can catch them live...

yeah there is an Electric Melon tune on 'Conspirators of Pleasure' which i got through the post a couple of days ago..... but that has been out a while. Quick trip to Psynews.... yeah that is their only released tune.
Their live set at Natural Order was also good....

Neural Rectifier Syndrome (NRS) - Lek and Max from London with their fullon psytekk - have new ones out soon on the next ambivalent and timecode recs releases
Junya (phantasm/tip/enzyme - he's makin some stormin new music with Dick Trevor (green nuns) and another killer project with Vasco (enzyme) in brighton) - dunno the group names, but look out for this stuff
Monastic Squid (POWERfull, pSyChEdElIc, SUNrise tunes - i'm convinced his shit is gonna be jammin' your airwaves pretty soon )

good quality uk stuff coming out soon.GREEN OHMS,this is Dick Trevor and John Ohm,on Dragonfly.Also Ambivalent Recs Are releasing a nice new comp.And what about the Cosmosis album and the Hopefiend.The state of the U.K.scene aint THAT BAD. |
