Does anybody know if it is possible to use two virus TI's at the same time? Or a TI and a snow?
I really use the TI alot and often through lots of effects on the insert channels. So I only really get 3 channels out of one TI. So I'd like another one Or something similar. But before i spend alot of money i would like to know if it works at all or not.

Short answer is yes, as this is a feature supported by the software side of the TI. I would personally not consider it a feasible solution due to the many headaches involved in running just one. Also the TI´s are very peculiar about what usb ports they like and adding another one will only compound those issues. If this is the route you wish to take i´d advice you to borrow another unit and see if it works. Otherwise it could turn into a very expensive experiment. The TI is not exactly the king of sound in my book and at the price it commands you´d be better off looking into other synths, which will give you and even broader spectrum of possibilities and sound (i paid more for my TI than my kyma system, and guess which one is mostly used as a paper weight)

I really like the fact that it is Totally integrated. There is only the Novation Ultranova seems to have something similar. I am really suprised there arent any others on the market yet.
About the headaches: I havent had a single one with my TI. It runs like a beast! A friend of mine has a snow i ll try that one.

love the ti also .
Lots of trouble with it nowadays ....
about to order a new worktation let's see if i get ride of those sync issues .i 've reach that point were after the 3d beat when i press play ,my Ti is already out of sync and freakin out
....very good synth ,very unstable tho ,i love the fact it's totally integrated also .
but no way you can use it live on my system/oooo/ for the price what to say ????
but to me it would make sense that if yours is working properly on your system then two would be even better ....hehehehe

The Venom synth also has computer integration.

Did you try the venom? I have had my share of difficulties with m-audio.. so I don't really feel like spending 500,- euro on a m-audio synth. Then i think i ll go for the novation ultranova.

No, i did not have the chance of testing it out just yet, so i have no idea about it's quality/useability at all... but i can't help myself thinking that it kinda sounds cool at times I sure understand your concern though!
I didn't look at the newer 'nova-named' synths from Novation. I have a SupernovaII rack, and a ReMOTE 61SL - yes, i love Novation and enjoy their stuff a lot so i can easily see how your choice might end upon the ultranova..
But i'm going offtopic here I only own a Virus Rack Classic and therefore has no clue about those nice modern Virus models. I just wanted to mention the Venom in regard of total integration... i hope the integration-stuff is a trend that other companies will follow soon too

I would say definitely losing. You can record any Virus patch in your DAW and for the cash you'd pay for a second TI, you're missing out on some other brilliant hardware synth you'll never get the chance to record in your DAW.
Yes my Polar TI is a great all rounder, but there are many other synths that are far better sounding from it. Why buy 2 good all rounders, instead of one good all rounder and then start buying synths that are at the top of their game at sounds that are important to your music?
And if the TI is your top of the game synth for your music, spend some cash on getting some good plugs, or outboard stereo channel strip to record it through.
You'll thank your self in the future for soing so.
