I haven't begged for this particular event...have I???
I was chillin' at home and I've been called by Twisted, arranged a price, and then I showed up, did my thing and...got unpaid.
I don't know why you get it so personal not being you the person behind this party's organization (actually noone at Twisted is, this was just a label party organized by someone else)

And...I wasn't the only one, I know of other people making their way from far away, just to get screwed in the end.

But...who cares anyway???
Public's not concerned about that.

We were talking about the party itself...which had poor deco, bad soundsystem, no seats in the "chill-out" and below average music, for my standards anyway.
And all this is for the absolute statements of people judging other people's comments and impressions of the party by calling him/her names...for whatever reason.
PS:Hi Rina, haven't seen you in a while...glad you had fun

I really enjoyed the event; spent almost the whole time in the main room. Younger Brother was my particular highlight.

Justin - I see from another thread that you've just joined the team here but you're not being the best moderator on this thread. You can't keep order whilst getting involved in the slagging yourself. There are ways of speaking your mind fully and honestly without getting in the slightest bit rude or personal.

The soundsystem itself was excellent; 2 stacks and flown arrays provided as good a coverage as is possible in that cavern of a room with the bastard overhanging balcony. Every event I've been to there has had unsatisfactory sound and I think Brittania Row made the best of a difficult room. Unless you're part of the Twisted or Liquid team I don't think you have any idea of the costs behind this event but I was told that after the budget had been agreed, expenses still escalated in the time leading up to the event; Twisted acts pitch themselves at the higher end of fees for artists in this genre and I'm sure this had an effect on the margin too.

The bigger the event, the harder it is to pull off; likewise the harder it is to keep all those attending happy. My hat is off to the entire crew (and Ross in particular) for working so hard and putting so much on the line in organising an event which put very large smiles on the faces of almost everyone I saw there - myself very much included.

I agree to disagree here Colin, I'm not here for being polite...infact, I'm trying to remember 1 moment in my whole life when I was diplomatic, no need to be a boring cheese eater to moderate this or any other forum.

The thread is in order if you ask me, actually I fail to see any slagging...it was, simply, an opinion from the potato and nobody, apart from the Twisted oficial signatures here, was giving any unpolite adjectives to anybody, or getting personal...should I refresh the words of Ott or SiB???

So I recommend you to be slightly more objective...not that you need any recommendations of any kind anyway, but still.

"Twisted parties are package trance for psy idiots"

Just what sort of wankery is that statement anyway?

If you want to express dissatisfaction about the party, how about doing it in a manner that doesn't implicate that me and all the others who had the most awesome time that night are a bunch of idiots for having enjoyed ourselves.

Offense taken.

justin chaos whoever you are....no one was paid that night because it was brixton academy......the fees will be paid once the promoter has the money from the venue

Actually was suppose to come along and see me mate Mr Bigland but in the end I couldn't make it... I never really made it to the first two parties in the last couple of years but Im sure more will follow....

My question is though, From what I hear ( And yes this are NOT first contacts ) most of the Twisted Artists / Crew are really NOT into psy-trance anymore.
Obviously Si B as mentioned it here, and I know some of the twisted artists feel the same..
What is the difference in working in an office a 9-5 job which you feel shit about then playing/making music you feel shit about ?? I mean isn't the reason why you guys are involved in the music industry is because you love what you do ?
Didn't we have enough examples of people who shift over to new sounds and generes because they are fed up with a certain style ?

I used to be a BIG twisted fan back in the day ( same days of Flying Rhino ) but seems to me like Twisted is riding on the glory of the so called Hay-Day
Respect to you guys for would you've done in the past and your glory is in place but I think maybe it's time for a change, continuety.

Regarding money subject NOT paying your DJs/Artists is lame in any party of any type!
If you are doing a night then take the resposiblity to pay the people involved, If you can't do so then don't make parties

twisted loves what it does......just because we dont like some of the music out there does not mean for a second that we ever do albums or parties that we do not fully believe in. You say do something different- well that was what this whole night was about -live bands and trance mixed together with every act having a distinctive sound instead of a night of repetitive trance by numbers.
As for the payment thing see my post above

when i checked BEFORE the gig the terms of payment were 28 days after the event

if anyone is crying over it then they are only crying over their own failure to check what they were agreeing to - not very professional really and then to do it in public and demonstrate that fact to any passing onlooker just compounds that original failing on their part in my opinion

I was simply trying to point out that doing stuff just for the sake of it and not truely believing in it seems odd. now you you made it clear that at least you do believe in the music and doing it from love fair play.

Re money, If that was the case of 28days to get paid after the event then of course no one can complain for not getting paid yet.
