And stop bashing IM. I know that everyone is entitled to their opinion but this gets out of control. I don't like the fact that they became so commercial. The good old Infected Mushroom will always be appreciated!

 Totally agree!

I will probably not go because of the venue and the organizers, but IM shouldn't be bashed. Even though they moved into different direction lately(more power to them), most of their old stuff is classic and still gets me excited
The singing is gotta go though
I heard they were doing it during the last few shows....now that's totally uncool Other than that, I'd listen to a few old tracks. |

I totaly agree with you mate, Like when everyone started hearing about psytrance they didn't listen and like infected alot!, But now they try to make something differente that to most ears sound cheesy, they get eggs and tomatos thrown at them...
That really isnt a way to take something that inovated and influenced our newer artists and scene into what it has become... But as SpaceShark said The singing is a big No No

If they started singing id be like "What the hell are you guys doing!!!"

Na, I tell ya, maybe it isn't the best music to play at nightime, but in a nice morning on an outdoor, like i said no one brings the dancefloor to a tribe like IM.

 Big boom to Infected

						| for isratrancers, this should be a no-brainer if you decide to go out tonight...morning, full on, AND dark music as opposed to fluff all night...DJs who don't trainwreck or play mix CDs...and one of the biggest, best sound systems in NY, all in a central location. don't let the words "infected mushroom" scare you away, you won't regret going |

I have heard this all over the world. as a person who have been there quite sometimes, i think the sound in spirit is horrible. If you standing in the midle of the dance floor, you can here everyone talks, the mid range is very low and no power. too warm for psytrance. for house maybe ok. if you standing by the corners close to the speakers, nothing you can hear but the sub pumping to your ear and stomach, anything else undigestable but hurting. the best spot to hear the sound is at the back center ( right by the steps to the smokin area which are driven by those small speakers, but the main drive speakers from the from did not do the job, especially the sub. anyway whoever says that spirit has the best sound in nyc, i think they have to check their ears or something something...

ok infected mushroom, what is the different with skazy now? or shulman new album? its all for the shake of money. if some people call it cheesey, that because they had it. why not listen to heavy metal or hard rock or 80's stuff. but most of us says "ahh i don't want to look back", so can't blame them either. overall i went to their partys and brought and introduce some friend the scene as the beginners to get a gentle convertion, to buy their ticket without begging and facing the low survace brain big bounchers this and that, but hey things changed for the real shit. unless commercial reason or cheesy stuff stright from production

 whatevah!

there is no such big bang, everything is the center of expansion |

can you name a place with better sound in NYC (if you say cielo, i will agree)??? you are right, the sound IS warm, but not TOO warm for psytrance. the warmth gives the basslines in particular a special quality which catalyzes movement and feeling on the dancefloor ..all you need is to let your ears adjust from what you are used to, instead of just being a stubborn audiophile...believe me, i felt the same way as you at first...and what system DOESN'T sound crappy near the corners as opposed to the center???

as for the party...infected was, well...infected
heheheh...the crowd thoroughly enjoyed it though, many clearly came out for IM, few familiar faces to be seen, low isratrance turnout (no surprise)...the locals provided class sets to surround the "show"...overall people were generally ecstatic from start to finish and everyone left in good spirits thanx to Mr Luis Influx laying some rapid undulating bassline magic down upon them ...now that Spirit has their Infected quota fulfilled, hopefully the doors will be open to go ahead w/ Xerox & Illumination as originally planned . |
