...to be honest I am a bit disappointed with this album. I really expected more. It sounds a bit "tried & tested recipe" psy chill/downbeat and not too deep. Unimaginative even. I think it gets tougher and tougher to deliver a groundbreaking album and easier and easier to deviler a "me-too" psy/chill album that follows "the rules".

..or maybe its just me.

I'm not disappointed at all. This is what good chillout is about... emotive, smooth, and relaxing, even in more upbeat moments. I can't express how it makes me feel really nostalgic of my years as a child listening to 80's radio, due to the tonal melodic quality choice and certain sounds. This is a good thing. It creates like a spiritual homesickness for me that sooths and aches my soul at once. I mean, to be honest, Tripswitch and Abakus are sharing that sort of sound and both are doing good things with it.

As far as expectations, I don't know what most expect from a good chillout album, but I expect to hear the artist's heart in there somewhere, and I think Nick has demonstrated that, clearly, to me.

Anyways, gorgeous album, wonderful production and sound quality. Thanks Nick, I appreciate it.

Any DJ's out there with free time, try mixing

Solar Fields - Compressed Universe (Ease Division 2 on SpiralTrax)
with
Tripswitch - Deer Park.

Lemme know if it works out.

Peace,

I like the album because it's a very subtle and smooth one... I like the artwork too

something I really like on this cd is the diversity in style... nice concept. a pleasure to listen while I'm working, gives me inspiration boosts.

I used 'roll your own' as opening track for my downtempo mixset. available for download www.omnipresence.be (go to 'mixsets')

I'm REALLY digging "Roll Your Own". To me, it's the most musically accomplished track on the CD. I'm quite curious to hear any remixes which come from these tracks - particularly "Indigo".

Thanks to everyone for your (mostly) super-positive feedback!! Means a helluva lot to know it's being received well ...

As for remixes, watch this space ... Quasga's the first in line with a remix of indigo - can't wait to hear him work his magic!           "amnesia is not knowing who one is and wanting desperately to find out. euphoria is not knowing who one is and not caring. ecstasy is knowing exactly who one is - and still not caring."

Yeah, that Juno kicked things off for me ... beat up, broken keys and covered in stickers but it's still got the fattest, roundest bass of anything in the studio

It will still be busting speakers when I'm writing jingles for children's tv           "amnesia is not knowing who one is and wanting desperately to find out. euphoria is not knowing who one is and not caring. ecstasy is knowing exactly who one is - and still not caring."
