We are cooking up another killer concoction of psychedelic mischief and fiendish fun! Get down to Castle PsyTranceylvania where the Psychedelic Sourcers, DARK SOHO (Israel, Alchemy Records) will be launching their new album "COMBUSTION" with a live stage performance. Sonic Alchemists, SHANE GOBI (Alchemy Records) and SAGIV (Alchemy Records) will be joined by PSYCHOSONIC (TRiBE of FRoG), NATZAN (TRiBE of FRoG), MORPH (Phantasm Records/Planet Easton), plus tribe of frog residents.

Is this gonna be as fun as it sounds? (I mean: a _lot_ of fun)  I am thinking about the venue..... it sounds like the name of a pub... but maybe it has a big outside garden or something....??
anyway: Ill be there I reckon! apart from the obvious (dark soho etc) it will be good to hear mr morph27 in action:)

BLACK SWAN - yes it does sound like a pub, and yes it is a pub. But it is not like a pub! Earlier this year we did a party with System 7 there. It has the same capacity as The Depot, where we did the last ToF party (except there is more space because of the outdoor area)
The pub bit is at the front on the roadside. None of the pub bit will be used for the party (of course you will be able to go in there if you like). Around the back of the pub/venue, now this is where it all happens, a hive of rooms to hold 700 people with 1 large hall with a great stage for live PAs (which is why we chose it for Dark Soho) with another room off the side with another sound system and a way out to the large garden with geo-dome, fire, fireworks, etc. From both inside and outside you can go upstairs to the slightly more down tempo (135-142bpm) psytrance prog.trance room, and the chill out room with chai cafe and juice bar. Its a great place for a party. So don't be put off by a name. If you make it along you won't feel like you are at a pub or a club (when was the last time you went to a club with an outdoor system, fire, geodome etc.) Its good! we love it! i'm sure you will like it too! 
P.S. 30th November we return to the depot for a live pa from Total Eclipse!

i noticed the words 'fire sprites' in the line up, you got fire twirling action is this performers or is there space for all and sundry to come and burn things?? (ie is it a garden/outdorr space or is fire performers on stage??) |

he picked me and tom up from the train station, drove us to a deserted location and proceeded to chainsaw our limbs off one at a time!
ok maybe that is not _quite_ an accurate description of events:)
hehe yeah I'll be coming down again for sure...looking forward to it.... not sure about the antman (he is making some lame excuses). |

wonder if it will arrive in chaois beforfe the party? well at preset (mailout which arrived this morning) only alchemy cd at chaos is digital tribe..... i have it already:)

well, well, well... where to start? at the beginning?
so was once again kindly picked up from the station by andy morph (after executing a rather nifty diving roll out of the station entrance ) and proceeded to prepare for the party..
we arrived at about 11:30 and there was a huge line of people waiting to get in.. looked promising already.. in we went and..
andy had said that the frog crew had been in the venue since monday! and it showed the minute you walked through the door.. this was quite simply the BEST decorated party i have ever seen.. they had really gone to town.. it felt like being immersed in a complete other world everything was decorated some way or other.. there was so much to see what with three different rooms of music and outside and various bars dotted around the place.. it had a brilliant intimate feel that i enjoyed immensely all night long..
and the music? in a slight change to the line up spencer alchemy was playing instead of sagiv and indeed it was spencer who was at the helm so to speak when i got there.. a nice selection of tunes that i gently adsorbed from the comforts of the bar then shane gobi is up and we took to the floor.. lots of flailing of arms on my part.. three parts music one part cider consumption much enjoyed as usual.. and now to complete the alchemical tripple bill we have dark soho.. in a very different setting from my last encounter with these guys live in june, and indeed only two of them since boxer had been unavoidably detained somewhere... not that that seemed to matter at all as they proceeded to destroy the dancefloor in their inimitable fashion.. excellent gents (are you sure oakwood is ready for this sort of stuff? ) then it was left to resident psychosonic to round off the night which he certainly did to the crowds satisfaction.. i had by this time retreated into wandering aimlessly and gibbering.. it happens...
sorry to the performers etc whom i didn't catch.. everyone seemed to be smiling all night so i guess you all did your job
in summary.. those froggies 'ave done it again.. just bigger and better than last time.. and i wouldn't have put money on that since last time rocked so hard nice..

Ok this was ridiculous! It is october and by october I mean winter. Yet we had an outdoor party! In the middle of Bristol!
Well ok that doesnt sound like tom's review but the way it worked was: there was a main room inside + bar which was amazing with incredible decor, then outside in the garden was a small geodesic dome tent with maybe 30 people or so dancing like lunatics to superb full-power tunes. The flaps of the tent were open and more people were dancing around on the grass etc. I was very very happy! I love this kind of thing!! Ok next summer i need to go to more free-parties that is for sure.
So I wandered backwards and forwards between the main room and the outside area and the bar (sometimes bumping into tom muttering about cider hehe). Didnt even go upstairs but I heard that it was excellent up there too...
Tom's already said about the music which was excellent quality all through the night (ok maybe there were some *cough* mixing issues with Psychosonic). Hehe I remember spencer playing miraculix's Stop Them and I knew then that i was at a party steeped in Alchemy:) I enjoyed Dark Soho a lot, but I was getting too hot in that room at the time, and I missed Boxer's 'acting skills' after being blown away by the dudes in Stratford:) But Ill be at Chichime for sure for their next london set....
The people were really lovely at the party. A lot of people came from London and it was great jumping around with them etc, but also random people kept wandering up and being friendly (not just wasted people I hasten to add).... And the girls! Holy moly! I don't usually talk about these things in reviews but this party was a special case...........
Every week's party seeems to be better than the week before at the moment, and this trend continued with Tribe of Frog. Where will it end???? Hmm I suspect the answer is that this party was the high-water mark....
happy memories indeed..... i want more frog!!
