thinking the same thing,
not because they use the word tribal,
it is tribal trance
and certainly not this release,
even elysium project says his albums aren't tribal trance so,
what to say about that
allthough I experience it as tribal trance...           http://www.last.fm/user/LastFmKoen

Trust me: Listen to the music by Elysium, Elysium Project. Some of the best Tribel-Trance music out there, imo so far.

Hey thanks psytones, I checked it out at saikosounds and maaan these guys were in the real Goa vibe. This is what I miss in the music today.

My only problem with Elysium is that the production/mastering part sounds a little bit outdated. But great music

Juno Reactor & Joujouka are obvious ones

Atmos, Antix, Sun Control Species, Phat Kontrollerz, older Shiva Chandra, Reefer Decree anything with really sophisticated percussion... soothing tribal pads

Some of the more housey gear like Kruger & Coyle, Haldolium & System 7 can feel tribal to me sometimes

Good thread, I like tribal

What about Medicine Drum? Sometimes it sounds like Elysium, but a bit old as well.

Tribal trance is very hard to find (which is a pity, since it's a very power psychedelic tool), most acts named in this threat aren’t what I would define as tribal. Medicine drum has produced some tribal trance - which is excellent even today. In regards to elysium - I wish they would re-master and re-release a couple of his albums. Juno reactor is also at times very triba'lish and off course fantastic.. However, IMHO Adham Shaiks last album, fusion is far more tribadelic, then any of the above mentioned artists, especially, electro Swedes and Germans, which have very little to with tribal according to my vocabulary, his usage of drums (percussion) is phenomenal.

very true many people actually don't know what tribal trance is,
all those artist named here use tribel influences but are not tribal trance,
but tribal artist are not actually within the psychedelic concept so people mention psychedelic artist who use tribal influcenes and think it's tribal trance,
but héy I don't know other names too, I only know one pure tribal trance 'hillight tribe' but that's all,
it's very hard to find, I've been looking for pure tribal trance many years but my search hasn't given resulsts yét...
too bad cause I like it a lot...           http://www.last.fm/user/LastFmKoen

This is a psychedelic trance forum, obviously people are going to interpret tribal trance from within that setting.

Pure tribal trance would be the music the ancestors of our motherlands played when performing dance rituals 1,000s or 100,000s of years ago. Do you think Aborigines would consider Medicine Drum or Highlight Tribe tribal? I doubt it.

I do not see how you can claim people do not understand what 'pure tribal trance' is when Highlight Tribe themselves are creating music from a very limited understanding what the tribal trance dance ritual experience of our ancestors was.

Of course we do not understand what pure tribal trance is, nobody does. Tribal influences or elements is the most any artist in our modern age could aspire too.
