that's an unfair question - can YOU give me a trance act (A Live one) that it's status can be compared to that of a renowned Rock Group?
i would say Shpongle, or Astral, in that matter.           "We Do Not Allways See Things As They Are. We See Things As We Are" -Ancient Chinese Proverb

no,thats exactly a question. metalica didnt filarmonic gigs first 15 years (or more i just dont know about them too much) of their history. till their turn to be super band, super in the money meaning. with fit to their position crowd, stadions and speakers at their gigs.           Believe your soul !

No, metalica didnt do philharmonic gigs in 15 years time, because they hadnt been in the mainstream in a long time. if you take the black album, and Justice for all, puppet master, and compare them with their latest albums, i think you'll notice a slight change in the musical style, one which coped better with a classical edge to it, as well as some old school covers (Whisky in the jar). but we're digressing here.
i think trance and classical can work together quite well, but you'll have to have some one very proficiant to make the musical arrangement as to ascertain at least a 2 hour gig. and that's beside the public view point.           "We Do Not Allways See Things As They Are. It would probably be to expensive, to pay a whole orchestra for trance artists. Metalica was the most succesful group in the 90th. Meaning the sold more albums then "any" other group.
Probably not even all trance artists together sold that many albums.
And then Metalica is a real life act - you know with real instruments in hand.
But I think that trance and classic could work perfectly together, on an album.

I think it's a good idea, but I agree it's probably more of a budget thingy.

I think somebody like Shpongle or Entheogenic could make it happen.

yes, i love metallica too! (my prefer album is masters of pupetts) but i prefer the agressiv songs with cliff burton "cliff we do not forget you"

it's a good idea, i'm a fan of "YES" who make psychedelic rock (classical tendance)
and they played in paris with an orchestra !
it was wonderfull...
sorry for my english...

I like all styles mixed, less categorisations this way, if it's well done of course.
