but agaim...they dont. having read quite a few scientific issues being reffered to in this thread, I can see that ppl tend to absorb what the media happens to present as intresting, ofcourse in an over-exagerated way.
science does not provide future predictions...yet. it does though provide thesis and antithesis of POSSIBLE future scenarios. media choses the most extreme ones, and publish them with an even more extreme wording. ppl then take that for granted, as obvious from this thread, and use it as a refference for supperting their opinions. I doubt though that someone has actually read any formal scientific article, released in a scientifically recognised jurnal/book, regarding any of the issues mentioned here. or maybe Iam wrong....
but hey..noone needs to read any of these scientific research papers as long as they dont plan to get involved with it somehow, or be judgemental on their content.

regarding the polar shift...well as far as I know (note that I havent done much of a research on the topic) it is a speculative future scenario based on past-climate trend analyses as well as a cluster of current factors and events. it was quite popular in the 80s when the North hemisphere was cooling down. however, as we progressed through the years, this theory has been discarded due to the increased understanding in the interaction of many other factors affecting our climate. that in the same time has increased our awareness of the complexity in the climate system of the planet, bringing up many other unanswered questions needed to consider.
There is a theory tho that the melting arctic ice in the NH could suppress the warm gulf stream thats warming up the E Atlantic and thus affecting western Europe in terms of greater cooling. This theory has been suggested assuming a certain development trend of anthropogenic global warming and the resultant behavior of other factors affecting the climate. but its impossible to say, there are soooo many factors to be considered, not to mention thir extremely complex interaction. hence this theory has been argued by scientists, but ofcourse no certainty exists whatsoever!
aahh...love this science, very chalenging and mind stretching. Im affraid I cant say that for religion as its totally oposite.....Gopendra's views are not religious as defined by any of the known religion, but tend to resemble the concepts of religion

It is all a part of perception. It depends what view to do you take. I could say that The material manifestation that surrounds me is a reflection of my state of consciousness, as I choose one reality out of all the possible realities existing in the universe. We know we can influece this manifestation. So IMHO there is no better solution than to love, smile and dance with beautiful ppl, relaxing the senses, centering the mind and focusing in our hearts...

this dosent really make much sense to me ...but who knows ..right?
the way things are goin around here..with hurricanes n tsunamis all over the place....gives me a feling somting is wrong somewhere!!! looks like mother nature finally woke up from her long exiled sleep...n said its time to evolve!
if given a scientific explanation then its just big time global warming...the ozone layers just dissappearin, Heat waves and periods of unusually warm weather,
Ocean warming, sea-level rise and coastal flooding
Glaciers melting ,Arctic and Antarctic warming(but im sure we humans will find a way) and again we still have a lot of time...before any of this really is a destruction threat! and guess what ..i just saw on animal plant that in the next 50 years or so there wont be any rainforests! haws that for a slap on mother earths face? the eco system will only be seen 'bout by our grandchildren on dvd documentries!(that is if we make it beyond 2012)
well ...@ gopendra...those are some really nice thoughts bro  but its hard to believe in this without proper scientific evidence!
@ green channel ..what you s@y makes more sense, bout the end of a cycle n beggining of a new era!but i dint know that indian calenders end at round this century 
either way ..sounds like funto me...if this is true...im gonna stop studyin n wastin time pursuing a carreer n have as much fun as possible. late nights ,sex, alchohol, drugs n wat eva else fits the list...who knows how hard that big commet s gonna come crashin on all of us

Animals do take terrotories as well, use food on it and then move to another, so "Agent Smith" wasn't right. This was just a dumbass esay like whole Matrix movie, trying to be a smartass with pc geek retard as main character.
Even dinosaurs moved from place to place in order to survive.
This is nature rule to multiply, thou some countries control it now since it damage stability in country.

hehe, funny, this is the exact words that I have been thinking about for the læast god knows. All of natures wrold has a balance in the system. Antilopes got the Lion, Lions got humns. But humans have absolutely no counter weight. So the question is, who is humans "natural" enemy in balance? Who is our Yang, if we are Ying? I would say that our only natural enemy is our self. But how can we be our own enemy. Just that tells us that we are wrong for this life. And the matrix quopte. I agree 100%.
We used to have a counterweight when we where not so developed (brain). But now, we have become superior to these animals that once used to be our counterweight.
