what suits the people better, commercial listening and evolution of the music....or taking it deep underground....
which makes more sense...as for India and the sub continent many things are partly over!

i think its time to make it uber commercial & educate authorities & general public about electronic dance music & culture but at the same time we need to be connected to the roots & educate about the roots as well!

Theres just too many of us to do anything underground anymore.
Community scenes not happening. Only private gathering with few friends.

+1 I think its time to think outside the box. Just cos we have some commercial scenes does not mean the underground has to die they will exist side by side.
Each with its own vibe ans character but i would prefer an underground one since you know each other and the vibe is at a more experienced level.

makes sense....but at times.. isn't the freedom lost, or tainted.
Take clubs .. there's music ... but it lacks feeling, and is that evolution... The very adventure of the party is lost.
safety is priority, as although there's nothing wrong dancing, the frequency of dance seems to be a problem with the authorities.
so what happens now...
house partees???:P

Freedom lost or tainted we cannot have control on that. Anyone and everyone on this forum would probably prefer an underground outdoor even with the right vibe any day but in today's time is that possible.
If we only have underground parties then the authorities do not understand they will take an aggressive stand as they always did as their mentality does not allow them to think a group of people dancing full power on a diwali/holi is a much better state of affairs than seeing the same persons sitting in their basements or alley somewhere poking needles, snorting etc. There is a fine line between addiction and recreation and personally i think many psy trancers thanks to the ego dissolving nature of our favorite substance rarely cross that. But the authorities are so narrow minded how do we explain these clear cut differences to them.

On the same not if we keep the commercial parties happening authorities some day might understand cos at the end of the day all trancers want to do is dance. The authorities should come to these commercial parties and see the vibe for themselves and understand we want to dance which is not a crime.Abroad authorities give protection to outdoor festivals the day our authorities stop craving media attention/bribes maybe they can think like real cops and protect its citizens rather than prosecuting them on such accounts.
So i say Live and Let Live let both commercial and underground parties should happen one fine day our authorities will open up their minds.

I know the night is almost an impossibility, small gatherings aside...
but what about the day ... is that possible....i mean if people are ok going to clubs, is the day outdoors not better?
