OK, here goes...
Finnish psy-trance is something completely different than what you call psy-trance, even I can't really define it, or actualy say it exists...There are several artists which could fit into the general description of psy-trance, but mainly because they do 4x4 beats in their music.

The finn-trance is attempting to constantly break the boundries of what everybody calles psy-trance, most finnish artists who dealt with psy-trance when it was still 'goa' are doing today some of the most innovative music I've heard in a long time. you might recognise the familiar 4x4 beat, but that's about it...

Artists (partial list):
Texasfaggot - I dunno why they are considered psy-trance, too much even for me...
PelinPala - his style reminds me of ECT sometimes, very crunchy and hectic, released an album on Demon Tea and on various compilations
OutoLintu - brilliant groove maker, also on the wierder side of trance, released on various finnish labels and soon on USTA
Kiwa - a new duo from Helsinki, more breakbeatish kinda trance, releasing on SurrealAudio.
SquareMeat - another duo, fantastic funky productions, released and album on Exogenic and soon on USTA
Haltya - collaboration between PelinPala & Outolintu, released and album 'Forest Flavor' under Exogenic.
Midiliito - I dunno if they r active anymore, still some interesting mixture of finn-folk & trance.
Electromagnetic - again, I havent heard from them in a long time
Fluoro Fantasy - released under Exogenic & 13 Productions.
Poly 61 - dunno if this is trance , over melodic 4 me.

and soon: Highpersonic Whomen - another collaboration between PelinPala & OutoLintu, only this one is a progressive trance act at it's best, according to all the definitions we already know - look up to comming released from this one.

Labels:
Exogenic, SurrealAudio, 13 Productions, Karelia.

references:
Fusion vs Confusion (Exogenic)
Haltya - Forest Flavour (Exogenic)
PelinPala - My CD has landed on my next door neighbour's dog (Demon Tea)
Beats & Beyond (SurrealAudio)
SquareMeat - Wave Soup (Exogenic)
Texasfaggot - Back to Mad (Exogenic)
Recreational Drugs (13Productions)

u can contact me personaly for any further info.

as I mentioned, the highlight compilations are
Fusion vs Confusion (Exogenic)
Beats & Beyond + Open (SurrealAudio)
Digital Drops (USTA, stbr)
Recreational Drugs (13 Productions)

very few finnish tracx have been released outside finnish labels, so finding them would probably be hard. try to search at
www.surrealaudio.com
www.exogenic.com
www.thirteenproductions.com
for more details.

welcome to the gang man...

sure it's possible, but its not as easy as finding a T.I.P CD...

I guess that if u really wanna find this music u should use the addresses I posted above, the guys @ the labels would be happy to direct you to the places where you can purchase their music.
I know that psyshop holds some finnish CDs/12"s as well.

anyway, I'll be happy to assist anyone interested in this music - contact me in person.

LOL LOL & LOL again!
if only you could understand the meaning of some of the tracks/bands names...:):):)

well, that's maybe the main idea behind finnish trance - finns love to laugh about the whole world, and their music is also like that. That's what I like about them so much - they don't take anything seriously, and they have their own private sense of humor that to the outside world seems like pure wierdness. it takes a lot of open-mindedness to be able to understand this, which makes you much more open to other kinds of music (and people too).

Lyri - Miranda Silvergren is Swedish. Texasfaggott are Pentti Slayer, Tim Thick and previously also Francuise Faggot, currently working under Squaremeat with Pepe K. couldn't u tell they're finns?;)

Oz - this phrase is probably some slang, most of the track & bands names r puns and word games in finnish. as I said, they just love to laugh @ the whole world with their private humor.

what'fuk? I've become the moderator of the finnish thread?!
