well maybe it means too much for me. After traveling the world in a search for better parties, it means a LOT for me. But i know its not the same 4 everyone, some are mp3 i-pod Trancers, some wants just entertainemnt, some wants to run away from theyer reality. But for me its more...kinda of family, spiritual way and the musics really takes me where i want. Lets keep iut underground kids!! |

well everyone has different reasons for listening to psy trance or being associated with the scene
some for the pure love of the music
some for the ideals of the scene
some for the dope
some because they are deluded
some to get away from society and sort of rebel
whatever the reasons i dont think the music/ culture which is all binding exists.......
its jsut a party where people come to have a good time and everyone has a different reason
no culture
no religion

Of course trance is more than music man this is what's it all about and this is the difference between music and trance. Trance is a frequency of life once your on it your on it forever, it is chemistry of feeling and psychedelics, hallucinogenics, new realities more than you ever expect.

For me psytrance is sacred music but when it comes down to it music is all it is, just as the chant of the Gregorian Monk is not Christianity, psytrance music itself is not my religion.
The music is a means to an end that end being enlightenment, and in and of itself is not sufficient.
For the magic of the music to fully have its effect it need enter the ears and flow through opened doors of perception
to give the visions the door's opening has made visible to the listener.
When many trancers gather together, to open their doors and listen to the music thus rendered suceptable to its effect, if the dancers hearts are right a powerful unity may be the result.
But even this is not sufficient for the global movement. For that to happen the dancers must go forth at partys end
with the little bit of enlighment they gained held close inside their heart and mind,
and go forth in the world spreading it in action to those whose minds are not ready to partake
of our music or our magic potions we so love to consume.
Plant in them the essence of our trance experience through subtle means,
for to preach to them of drugs and trance would be folly, it would fall on deaf ears.
So by and by we may develop something that could be labeled our "values" our "ethics" or "rituals".
But a culture takes a long time and much labor to build, and precious little to destroy.
So though a global trance culture that can compete as a relgious/ethnic idenity is a long way off
it is I think a worthy goal, but not one yet achieved.

For me it start like music then come and the culture
and nowdays I dont know.
For some people is way of life and for some other bussines
or good music for the home or the car only.
It is up to you..

I don't believe that Trance is the only music that brings people together, music and art in general cancel differences between people and gives the human relations another dimension.
so to say that only psytrance is the real music that brings people together, just is a bit too narrow minded

Exactly wat happens bak in the 60´s. U just need a little to destroy it. So thats why i got mad when i see ppl driving the trance scene to the same commercial way. If we gonna sell "trance" we r going the same way that happened be4 with rock n roll. We already got ours Limp Bizkits n Linkin Park (or limpin Park n Linkin Bizkuts, anyway is the same crap) n ours Jimi Hendrix on Trance. So, this kinda of commercial producers n record labels r getting fukin greed n takin us to the same hole they belive is the meaning of all this. Counciesness is not for all, i keep trusting this is an alternative way, paralel to society n it should keep it underground. OTHERWISE U JUST NEED A LITTLE TO DESTROY IT, AND THATS WAT MANY PPL R DOING! ONCE AGAIN LETS KEEP IT UNDERGROUND!!!! |

But you got so many great "underground" groups within Rock, Hip-Hop and ect. It's just that you got soo much commercial music within the genre. And psytrance will have the same faith. My god, there's alot of shit and crap running down our psy-stream. But do you know how many great psy releases there still are? .. Lots, and if people complain about there not beeing any good psy left. Then they a) should look harder, and maybe think about getting into a new genre that will fit them better or b) They DL thousends of mp3's. And if thats the case, you cant realy complain, because you should listen to all of those releases as well. I dont know, but I'm buying albums almost each day, and I smile more and more for each time I get a delivery of albums.

PS. If you claim that all new releases are crap (which I cant belive), then I suggest you open the treasure chest of old goodies. I bet theres more releases from before 2001 that you havent heard yet. And when you do that, think as if the past is inside the present. .
Underground, yes. Maybe you should get your ass to the underground to find some underground music. |

Shure, I think ur right..... But dont forget that psytrance itself was originaly born out of a specific culture and lifestyle, and therfor represents something from that specific culture and way of thinking........
or did represent something, because I feel its fading away slowly, slowly.....
And when all is gone of what it used to reprecent ....gone......then ur right,...then its just music.
Maby that is where we are today....
But dont worry dudes...its natural.

Its culture because theres a meaning for it. Its culture because some ppl just live this life with no pretension of "becoming someone" (maybe u dont know this ppl).Its culture because at first there was a prerogative of being humble n not greed, that is lost in reminds on time. Its culture because u bring culture from everywhere, than u exchange culture n u learn about other cultures. So this music is the base for a culture that has growed above it. Of course when u listen it in your i-pod, car or home stereo its just music, but when u travel the world n see how the world accept n feel it so positive, ITS CULTURE KIDS, i can tell u, its not only music. |
