Tracks with tempo changes?

Ok, I know a few artists (Simon P) change time signatures in their tracks, and also make instant changes in tempo...

BUT... I haven't heard a psy track which gradually increases the tempo (i.e. BPM) over time. Anyone know any tracks which do this? Just curious if artists don't do it because it's difficult to mix in a DJ set, or if it confuses people on the dancefloor. It seems like it could be a very powerful effect if used right.

Hallucinogen - Trancespotter

This is how it's done. And it's done just right

There's also the GMS/1200 mics track on the Mystery of the Thirteen Crystal Skulls which is a different way of doing it, but with the same general idea.           http://www.myspace.com/Hooloovoo222

Trancespotter - you're totally right, I'd forgotten about that one

Haven't heard the other track you mentioned, but I've been meaning to pick up that CD anyway...

Good topic...
I think that instead of changing the bpm of a track, many producers change the track. And instead of one track with changing bpm we have two tracks with different bpm (that a dj will mix in one track during the party)...

CHI-A.D.'s Liquid Neon Sky actually has some very tricky tempo changes... so not only is it a good track, but a fine challenge for any would-be deck wizard... it ranges from 140bpm to 145 or so by my measure, and yes I'd call it a powerful effect... the song slows in some of the more epic parts, but its so subtle... it makes the sounds just a touch 'deeper'. I swear the first 10 times I noticed this effect I thought my tables were drifting!

Best song for this shift is Horrorgram though... I love that beginning! and I am fairly certain Cosmosis used tempo changes a lot in Synergy... and of course, Hux Flux (alas, tempo changes I can handle, but not when a song constantly breaks out of the 4x4!!)...

You mean Jorg On Mushroom's "The Messenger"? Yeah definitely, that track has more tempo changes than a dog has fleas

Great track too btw, one of my favorite "classics".
