I thought this guy deserves a thread in a psychedelic forum!

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tom_Robbins

By far my favourite author of all times! Oh how I would love to be a TR virgin again....

here is a list of his books:

Another roadside attraction
Even cow girls get the blues
Still life with woodpecker
Jitterbug perfume
Skinny legs and all
Half asleep in frog pajamas
Fierce invalids home from hot climates
Villa incognito
Wild ducks flying backwards

If you havent read any yet (you are soooo lucky) I would personally recommend "Half asleep in frog pajamas".

And here is an interesting interview with the man:

here are a few quotes from the man:

Disbelief in magic can force a poor soul into believing in government and business.

Equality is not in regarding different things similarly, equality is in regarding different things differently.

Human folly does not impede the turning of the stars.

Humanity has advanced, when it has advanced, not because it has been sober, responsible, and cautious, but because it has been playful, rebellious, and immature.

I believe in nothing, everything is sacred. I believe in everything, nothing is sacred.

If it is committed in the name of God or country, there is no crime so heinous that the public will not forgive it.

If little else, the brain is an educational toy.

In order to be respected, authority has got to be respectable.

People write memoirs because they lack the imagination to make things up.

Religion is not merely the opium of the masses, it's the cyanide.

The highest function of love is that it makes the loved one a unique and irreplacable being.

The sky was the color of Edgar Allan Poe's pajamas.

There are many things worth living for, a few things worth dying for, and nothing worth killing for.

To achieve the impossible; it is precisely the unthinkable that must be thought.

To be or not to be isn't the question. The question is how to prolong being.

True stability results when presumed order and presumed disorder are balanced. A truly stable system expects the unexpected, is prepared to be disrupted, waits to be transformed.

We waste time looking for the perfect lover, instead of creating the perfect love.

We're our own dragons as well as our own heroes, and we have to rescue ourselves from ourselves.

When they tell you to grow up, they mean stop growing.

I hope that these will incite a few people to read his books!!

Build a man a fire, and he'll be warm for a day. Set a man on fire, and he'll be warm for the rest of his life.

definitely my favorite author by far. i think "fierce invalids.." is the one i like the most, but that's most likely because it was my first one. i've read them all numerous times and anxiously awaiting "b is for beer" which should be out in april, if i'm not mistaken.

THE. BEST.

I think I'm going to check it on my next book shopping.           "The dedication to repetition — the search for nirvana in a single held tone or an endlessly cycling rhythm — is one of electronic music's noblest gestures."

Indeed, I've decided to give it a try.
I like this quote: "To be or not to be isn't the question. The question is how to prolong being. "           In search of the perfect psyktrans.
