do you enjoy being of a diffrent color status then other users? do u like the distinction seperating you and the rest of the forum? do you like having people being able to contact you easily for booking or any other related issues? i bet the answers to all of those are yes, yes and yes... why do i know? simply because most of you msg me to change your statuses.

i got a bone to pick with many of you...
especially you who post in the top10 section on a regular basis. i cannot understand why there were such few responses on the official isratrance "Best of 2004" thread. i cant remember more then 10 artists and more then a few label users who posted their comments about any or all of the criteria.
why is that? is your opinion so secret? are you simply using this forum with no feelings of responsibilty of any input back from you? i was so glad to see user:edoardo from neurobiotic posting his comments there, made me appreciate him much more as a member of the community... so what? you people have the time to sit down and write down you ultra killer top10s, write your thank you comments on your self promoted threads, but no time to contribute in that topic?
i think its pretty lame and weak of you (the ones who didnt participate). you dont have to if u dont want to, there is no requirement, afterall its just a poll like Detox says... but come on... i thought this genre was about better people with good intentions and a sense of community... was i wrong?

Hi surrender,

first, I apologise for not participating in the 'best of' poll, simply for the reason I feel I have nothing to contribute to it. More so, I think (and also see from the posts that came after the publication of the results) that it is not representing anything - the generes are either too interwinded in each other (if you post Astrix as artist of the year, then why not Sasha? they are played at the same parties sometimes) or too far from each other (its impossible for me to rate full on trance and suomisoundi under one genere - just because they both have 4x4 beat doesn't make them related).

I believe that an industry person (artist or label personnel) can contribute to this forum in many other ways - either by professional commentry, a contact person or simply an interested user. I also believe that someone from 'within' the industry might see matters differently than someone who simply likes this music and makes it his hobby.

don't be so harsh man, remember that for some this is work, not only a hobby.

regards,
A           auspexx@compact-records.com

helen,
how can it be a fair representation when such a large % (artists+labels) doesnt participate? so u have had the time to read the results... nothing to contribute? then i dont want to see you complain about anything here in the future (mp3's, trading debates, future of music, etc, etc) since you choose not to put your 2 cents in when you have the chance, deal?
all im saying is that work or not, this is the smallest responsibilty to give back - isratrance doesnt make any profits or pays its moderators who work so hard for you and others 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365.25 days a year...

Maybe many of the artists/labels didn't vote in the best of 2004 because they thought their releases were the best, but didn't want to seem too self-promoting or egotistical??           -----------------

well I have seen the best of thread, and ( i think i did not post there.. damn if I did then i will look truly stupid hehe ) actually I did not find the urge to do this, and did not feel in any way that I hurt anyone. If I did hurt anyone then I truly sorry.

Take it easy Gadi, imo top 10 is one of the last important things there are to take care about           A man with a "master plan" is often a woman

I can only speak for myself but for me there is no "best artist or album". This can change from day to day. There are just too many great ones.           www.trishula-records.com

slightly...offtopic...but i really gotta speak this out...in fact i had posted this a few months ago and got hardly any responses...

http://forum.isratrance.com/viewtopic.php/topic/49299/forum/8

there are plenty of artists on this forum..damm everytime i log in there are a whole lot of men in blue....but have i seen them posting a lot over here..naah...i posted in my other thread stating tht unlike in the european countries etc in india parties where big artists play are anounced jes a couple of weeks before they actually take place it really is disheartning for many psy lovers because we do have our own personal life to look after and to manage to reschudule jes a week or two in advance for a gig is nearly impossible..so it wld be really kind on the part of the artists to put it up and say we r comin here or there...whatever it is..it leaves a lot of time for psy lovers such as me to actually think and decide whether we can make it for tht particular gig..(boy india is bigg) and whether we can make it...

and believe me it makes a huge impact when u see ur favourite artist also participating in the same thread as u...i actually feel honoured in participating in the same thread...thats the way it is for me...i honestly think the artists that r her eon the forum(am not takin ANY names) should participate a lil more in most of the relevent topics and also try n post out their schedules coz it definitely helps music lovers all over the world...

sorry surrender for the huge offtopic...i dint know how to attract attention to this situation so i put it up here...delete this post if u think it is too outta place...its jes my point of view...

no offence

I too did not post onto that particular topic, for me mainly due to the fact that I feel that the whole who's the best this and that is b/s. I have firm respect for all artists and labels who spend their time and money to create this art. My particular favorites vary and are far too many to list just one. I feel that the whole who's the best thing is very reminiscent of a high school yearbook. A general popularity contest to an extent. This is not why I became interested in the psytrance subculture. Yes I may post my top ten of tracks that have caught my attention for that period of time, but sometimes these tracks don't stay that way. I do feel that people do contribute their knowledge and experience back to isratrance as well, but it doesn't have to be in the thread that they would be expected to. To be honest, I don't think that some of the artists and labels would have been completely able to give an unbiased opinion on that thread anyway. Would you rather that all the artists got on there and wrote in themselves and their friends for the best of?

I honestly don't seem to understand the rancor behind this particular thread. Some people will give their opinion whether you want it or not. Some people rather than engaging in a popularity contest, decided to abstain from this topic. Why be pissed about it?           An Eagle may soar, but Weasels don't get sucked into jet engines.

im with yuli on that one I really dont pay too much attention to the top 10 section for a long time since it became "friends of congratulate the friend on his amazing non existent top 10" top 10s.

I prefer to concentrate on giving the extra penny in places i feel i will be more needed and not only the promotional section.

I agree with you gadi that most labels and artists are taking the isratrance forum as a means for noise making and promotion rather then really participating actively in all the topics.. as auspexx said for some people it is more than hobby but also work..

But as long as you didnt send a collective email or message to all "coloured section" people asking them personally to participate you cannot expect anyone to do it, it needs to come from the people, for sure you cannot judge them for that.

Lets concentrate on going forward in communication not backwards, it is still the most participated trance and co forum on the net and has most of the scene and market as its members i think thats the greatest achievement lets focus on bringing the rest and approach each other with good attitude and not by threatening or accusing, we both knowe it will not change a bit, the interesants will stay interesants, the contributers will go on contributing, and the casual visitors/members who post a reply once a month will go on being neutral cause thats the way it is...

Peace love and respect forget the unity it wont happen

i like my blue but its not too important.
i think i did post in this poll
but.
do artists need to participate only because they are artists??
i dont think so. and i dont think that artists should post in threads they dont want to post in.
artists just do music, its the only different than the other people.
i write somthing only if i have something to write about.
and i read only whats interests me (sorry.. most of this forum isnt interersts me as it did in the past)
i also stopped looking in the top 10s cause they are all the same anyway, only posting my own.           http://www.o-zen.com/art/ranal
