there is two "schools" for getting music.

old school - buy cd and its best !! no AG, no home sound stereo, just trusting and litlle luck will get your music expirience much more interesting after u will wait till release and then run to shop and.. finnaly get your copy with original cover and quality.

new school - download everything and say "i buy what i like, just music today not something and i buy only few, best ones". worse way to be real music lover.

extra school - "mafia" - get a trax before its release and thats sometimes work good.

im old school guy that have mafia connections for trax like Atmos - klien aber doctor (x-dream remix) or Mark Allen - Reax, dont do it... that trax imo never will be release so only way to get it - connections to dirty mafiozo world...

I don't think that buying the cd's has a direct conspire on loving music.
I, for example, love music very much, yet,I don't have the means to buy CD's.
I'm seeking for a job for quite a while by now, yet haven't found one.
If I had the money I'd buy the cd's I love.
But I have nothing by now :\
That is why I am downloading the music from here or there.
Once I have the money I'll buy cd's. seriously.

cheers.

i wanted to share with you somthing bad that i have done today.

i download much, away too much...

and that ONLY cause bad distrobution!

so if somebody mind about the artist fees, please sell the cd's at stores, and then i will have the chance to buy it, as i like.

Yes thats another problem, sometimes good cd`s dont come to japan. or at least take to long to arrive.
But luckliy in japan, i think most of the people are still sort of computer illiterate to be downloading tracks. only a few download i think.
well its good start by locking tracks on the net(i dont want this to happen). better late then never.

No matter what you say, downloading tracks from anywhere is usualy against the law.
The moral question if it's right or wrong is irrelevant.

thats a valid point.... i only know one shop remotely where i live that sells psytrance (well, apart from literally one or two fairly commercial cds which will appear in a couple of others), and this place's stock for psytrance is not exactly huge, rarely amounting to more than a dozen or so discs

the fact is i doubt, no scrap that, there CANNOT be a single person on this forum who does not possess pirated music, whether they downloaded it or not. i have no qualms cos i dont do it that often, i do buy cds occasionally but i certainly do buy vinyl cos thats what i DJ with
another point- most of the music were talking about downloading breaks copyright laws anyway, most of the time because it illegally uses copyrighted material such as samples from films or tv, etc

I think the amout of new songs coming out these days is huge... so, no matter how much you download, there's always going to be plenty more... and plus, as many people have already said, not all psytrance cds get to every country...

no joke! that is exacly how it is here @ our local recordstore... maybe 2 new vinyl releases per month, and a new cd per month (and a fair % of the stuff that comes in there isn't worth it imho). most of the dozen or so cds that they do have in there are ancient, and are already in my collection anyway.

yeah, i still buy a lot of vinyl too.
most of the time a compilation or album is released on vinyl, @ least one or two trax end up not making it on (ex. 'salvia divinorum' was left off of assassi:nations), and the only way to get a copy ov the missing track(s) without buying another copy on cd is to look for it online...

well, I refer to mp3 downloaders as the Borg. they consumate entire catalogues within days, they assimilate and adapt to whatever the artists, lables and music big shots are trying against them.

Guys, we discussed it here a lot ... and always it ended up with the same results.

Apocalypse, may be it is a good way to block traders using AG, but how will you block all the P2P sharing ??? Or FTP WAREZ trading ??? Nice idea, though ...           Always remember you're unique, just like everyone else.
