this was a great party with a great turn out... meaning most of the crowd stayed throughout the late morning, lots of dancing energy.
i showed up about 20 min. late for Pondscum but what i heard was pretty darn excellent. i thought Ocelot was entertaining for a while but a little boring/generic after the first half hour. catalyx played the highlight set for me with lots of derango and osom tracks, my fave. dai played a *very* good set, probably the best and darkest i've heard from him.
everyone played great over all, sorry i had to leave in the middle of yr set, vasily, but my ride was itching to go. sounded great though...

weather was freezing cold at night (thank you xlr8r crew for babysitting us all with your warmth), perfect at twilight, and started to get nice and hot towards noon when i left... i imagine it was really baking during BGM and Spyros.

one problem i thought at this party was the lack of so-called "morning" music, and by that i don't mean melodic/cheesy but just something a little "lighter"... leo played some good stuff at the end of his set, sounded like some psykovsky or something, that i thought was perfect, but other than that it wasn't til vasily went on that things calmed down at all. i dunno, all i'm saying is it's really tough to dance to 155-170 bpm music at 9 in the morning! as scott said it was like saturday morning cartoons being frantically channel flipped through!!! haha.

and of course i'm sure the videos of scott on fire will be circulating around the internet soon enough...

thanks mindful crew for throwing FOUR awesome outdoor parties this season.

Wow great party.
Once again a proper dark party Aaron!
Ocelot’s set was quite devilishly lovely, just what I needed to compliment the beautiful, powerful dessert experience. Hearing Derango in the morning was a perfect follow-up and zen….. Dai!! Very impressive Dai San!

thanks Mindfull for a wonderful party, was great to dance with so many friends in the desrt again, and a great way to close out the outdoor season!
Special thanks to the XLR8R crew for keeping it going with a chllenging fuel situation. you all rock!
Musically, i felt that Pondscum, while it was good music, was just not powerful enough to match the vibration and energy of the fire/full moon desert experience. I did enjoy ocelot's set, but maybe i would have enjoyed it more if it was played at a different timeslot.
And i just have to say, what is with all the djs stopping and clapping between sets? is this a new phenomena or something? or as bedouin says, what are we at a rock concert or something??
anyway, thanks to everyone for making the party possible, and esp. for the ritual in the beginning, it was a pretty strong timespell... good work everyone!

that's so funny that you mentioned that.We were wondering the exact thing.
I think maybe its a warning to hurry up and find a bush before the next DJ goes on...or to wake up for the next set.

Im also in agreement with you on the timeslot thing. Some sets just seemed out of place. But all in all....a rocking weekend in the desert.           I don't know the key to success, but the key to failure is trying to please everybody.

I really enjoyed Parus & Pondscum's set.

Konflux did a good job playing LIVE.

The location was awesome, the fire crew was definatly good to have. The weather was like 2 extreme's. Cold @ Night & Hot during the day.

Spyros did a great job closing the party...

Thanks Aaron for a great party!          https://www.djjeto.com

this phenomenon continues to baffle me and i've been here over a year now. this has happened at every single l.a. organised party i've ever been to.
maybe a new thread should be started on this one...

i dont think this is good or bad....i am new to the scene so i am not the best judge of this, but what is the real problem with applauding for a dj? i mean people circle around fire dancers then applaud, people applaude for performance art. what is the real difference between applauding for a dj and walking up to them later and saying "dude/dudet that was a great set thank" or something along those lines. i know people went up to bedouin and thanked him and the omega crew for their fire (i was one of those people)is that wrong/inappropriate. in my opinion saying thanx is another for of applause at least thats what i am saying when i clap. also being that dj on stage pouring your heart into your set, don't you feel great finishing a set and finding out that the crowd loved it and is willing to stop dancing long enough to applaud? If i am wrong at all please let me know (without being rude) if my impression of this thoughtful act is wrong i want to know.

also by the way, this was a great party. i am very happy that we got to get in at least one more outdoor event before the seasons change. Jeto what a great set to start the night with i enjoyed, I really enjoyed Ocelot very fun to dance to yay. Parus, Pondscum very nice as well. Visily great set it was great to hear you pull off a great set with your laptop obviously pissing you off. Dai as usual great set. I have to say that my favorite set of the weekend was Aaron dude your set rocked thank you. BGM very very nice set if i wasn't worn out i would have been front and center dancin away to you. And I regret that i missed Spyros i love your sets dude always a rockin good time.

Aye that was an UB3R party!

Definitely the best birthday present/party ive ever received/experienced.

And definitely the best outdoor psy party Ive been to yet.

Highlights include: EVERYONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If I had to pick the best live set I'd choose: 0cel0t and then Dai/Cata (too hard to choose one)for a DJ.

Only downside for me was: Experiencing the town drunkard/villageidiot/belligerent. Jack was a nice guy until he wasnt. Alcohol is the debil when consumption becomes dysfunction. Other than that it's liquid courage and it's a jolly good time.

As for the whole showing appreciation when an artist is done... Wtf is wrong with respect? I agree with Jewy (get it?). I'm fairly new to the psy scene too so pardon the stench of the freshness of my meat (gross) but is there a proper way to show an Artist/DJ some love? Should I write my appreciation down on a note and give it to him after his/her set is done? Or should I communicate via sign or better yet telepathy?

Get real. Not every DJ/Artist is going to be able to mix into or even want to mix into other person's music so a few seconds of silence/gratitude/reflection is nothing but appropriate if you ask this lad. I'm not trying to dous (sp? I didnt wanna type douche, whoops too late) your ~*^flame^*~ Bedouin/Megan/Jyoty but that's just my 2çents and those who know me, know that I am ^very^ passionate about how I feel. It's all about the love. Infact I think after a set is finished the crowd should rush the DJ and smother her/him with kisses and tickles until they cant breath. Ha! Yeah, screw clapping. Psh =P

I love you guys. Catch you on the flip side. Oh yea I'm moving to LA as soon as I can afford to.

nope , its not a rock concert . i dont think there is anything wrong with it. its just away to let the dj know that u really enjoy his set ....do u see anything wrong with that???? i mean he or she are playing to for crowd so mind as well give a little back..

it was nice to see all my friends that didnt see and a big while and also the ones that i met at the party....u all know the music wasnt really my type but i still have fun thanks to all...

Dai u didnt scare me at all.

Vasily u r getting better everyday man..

Aaron i liked ur set, especialy the track that said something about the WIND. im not sure if that was u but i will still like ur set if it wasnt it

parus and pondscum were something different which i didnt mind..

spyros thanks!!! i needed it soooo much

i think its nice when the crowd knows the new dj|live act is coming up,
clapping gives the people that chance.....
i see nothing at all wrong with that.

interesting how, apart from spyros, everyone weighing in on this is 'new to the scene' (as stated in their posts).
as for me, i've been at it for quite a while and have been to parties all over the world....and this sort of thing only stands out in my mind as being an l.a. thing. i may be pointing out the obvious here, but it pretty much ruins the flow. it's kind of like if you were to answer the phone during sex or something. when you're in the zone, trancing out (kinda the point eh?) and all of the sudden music stops and people clap....it leaves you with this sort of spiritual 'blue balls' effect....sorry for the bad analogy..hehehe...yikes!
anyways, i'm all for showing praise and appreciation for djs / producers..but this method defeats the whole intent of TRANCE imo...

i have not been to many partys outside the US,but have been to a couple and did witness a stoppage and applause between acts.....
i dont think its that uncommon.
you have a point to some degree about stopping flo,but its hard for a live act to mix out of a live act without stopping.....plus,most of the time, the stoppage is so minimal, before you know whats going on,the beat comes right back:)
as a dancer,it does no harm to me.i defenately stay in my trance state:)
my point is,i dont think its such a big deal......

another great party from Mindfull, thank you guys and also all the trancers from north, west , south and east. i got there middle of Parus set...Great music all night all day...i missed Jeto and organic machine...i know they did great job, not to mention...thank you for your comment to my set

as for the stopping and clapping, i personally prefer not to put any silent moment between sets, I usually mix in with intro pad of my first track, or if i was asked, i would not mind mixing in with beatmatch, however; I did insert silence this time for few seconds between me and Catalyx set on purpose. I knew catalyx close his set with Osom - bilkul track with his thought out intention, and if you know how the track ends, it will explaine somehow, i believe. but maybe it will not...and sometime it will flow well with minimum silence...

by the way, great party again! thank you Mindfull!

Beautiful point Jy'oh'ty.

It's kind of like trying to hold a conversation while on the floor. But I'm just like Spyros, I can fall in an out of trance just like blinking my eyes. And then I'm just like Jyoty too... I want to be in a trance as long as my physical vessel can handle.

And Janus shows his dual faces again. Not that I'm Janused faced. Duality can be a beautiful thing... Just like night turning into day and then eventually night again. it's easy to have a point and then evolve and settle on another one. And then there are the views that never change. Like in politics etc etc. Yada Yada.

And then there are crazy kooks like me who ramble on and can never make up their damn minds. Hahahahahaha. Fun topic though, I could go on and on with this one(don't encourage me).

As Spy said, It's no big deal. I agree, but it all adds up to me.

Guten Nacht~

Hasta La Victoria Siempre!!!

Bedouin thank you so much for the birthday gift. It was a pleasure experiencing heavy loads of Deja Vu with you. I wish there were more conversations. I look forward to the future, friend. I hope you see this. Until then......
