Don't like this album except 1987, which is a real gem! Actually this is one of the worst albums I've heard for a long long time.

i like it but i also hate it... if i look at it with the expectancy of another great ticonpsy prog album this thing fails.
but if i look at it in the form of progressing and moving onto a new sound/style i love it.

tracks 1 and 9 are great rest are not my cup of tea.

great work nonetheless.           http://www.landmark-recordings.com/

i'm neither a big fan of electro nor progressive trance, but this album sounds like a very decent "electro album". i hope for great response in that scene

I feel like this album is just an attempt by Ticon to produce the music that has inspired them. One track is basically Extrawelt, another is basically Trentemoller. Then there are retro tunes, trendy vocal electro tunes, etc.. It's all done quite well, with top quality production, but it isn't anything new. Perhaps it's new in the sense that most artists don't combine so many styles on one album, but the individual tracks aren't particularly original. Still, I can't really fault Ticon for at least trying to move in a different direction.

I like it a lot,
melodic progressive indeed with electro/house influences what I don't mind @ all...

ticon created a nice concept combining those influences with progressive...
it's a long time ago an album sounded so good from track 1 until last...

well done           http://www.last.fm/user/LastFmKoen

there are a lot good techno/minimal producers out there these days. but this release uses the techno/elektro clichees mostly in a boring way, i think. its just a good produced standard pop-electro release.
i think if the name wouldn't be ticon, no one would write about it at this forum...
i like it more minimal, like magda, villalobos etc.

Hi All !

The legendary duo, Fredrik Gilemholt & Filip Mardberg, is coming out with brand new album, called - 2AM. Ticon are proves the advancement of their music and the new album is contain fresh style packed with Electro-House moments. If you want to enjoy it, just listen the music and forget about Ticon's old music, because this is the upgrade of this project.

Cover : http://217.160.164.51/pic/dig1cd020.jpg

01. 1987
It's start very melodic and emotionally with long playing of morning vibes. The tempo is still slow, but '1987' track is open the journey on the best way I could ask for - magical introduction. Just flow with the melody and get free smiling fly from Ticon.

02. Zebra beat
The second track is whole Electro. I'm not big fan of this style, but these guys made it sound fine. The track is self is a bit boring if you ask me, except the up's and down's (like the brake on 03:35), which still give the listener a good reason why not pass to the next track.

03. Models on cocaine
Please say hello to the hit of the album. I think this track will be a dance floor refresher for long time. After almost two minutes of vocalist intro, came in the jumpy electro bass and let the all asses do the work . This is what I called enjoyable music.

04. Weekeend warriors
I hope you are ready to go on, because we are going down to the Minimal's zone. Ticon is a variable project and still keep the high level of production. The Minimal style fans have a serious gift here.

05. Spitfire
We are still in the Minimal area but this time the Electro is gets in also. These guys simply come to show us how to create a pure electronic music professionally. For maximal experience, you should follow the beats and check the your body responses. The brake on the middle of the track is jumping and super danceable. Way to go guys !

06. In the box
'In the box' track has a spark of imagination to Ticon's older material. Finally, after five tracks, we can hear some progressive kicks and it's feels great. Michele Adamson is responsible for the vocals in this track. They combine the old proggy style with the new electro style and the result is impressive.

07. We're shining
Now is the time to leave everything and run to the middle of the dance floor - electro madness. The vibe in this track is amazing. All the necessary elements are inside - groove, guitars, vocals (by Filip his self) and lovely atmosphere. If you were a bit tired until now, this track will wake you up big time.

08. 2 am
The title track is surely one of my favorites here. Despite the fact it's seven minutes length, the feeling is much more. I don't know what is their secret component, but they hypnotized me to this music. Forget the all definitions, this is MUSIC.

09. Less is more
I expected to a chill track, but Filip & Fredrik think just the opposite - they raise the tempo and add soft melodies to end this trip with sweet taste. Thank you guys.

Too bad for the vocals, but nevertheless some great Ticon here. It may not be psy, but enjoy it for what it is. It manages to remind me of why I liked Zero Six After so much, which means they've got the job done!           «They who dream by day are cognizant of many things which escape those who dream only by night.»

well I must say that despite it having crystal clear quality, it really is just fancy 80's synth pop... and I should know having just done a friend a favour playing at his 80's themed party, dj'ing that 80's shit for 5 hours... the vocals by Michelle Adamson left a lot to be desired, as do the Ticon lads... all in all what should have been a great album ends up as being rather boring and repetitive, coz it's all be done a billion time before 28 years ago!           --- Love In Light, Dance In Darkness ---

I love the Ticon boys, and i have respect for any artist who is not scared to strech his limits, and get out of the box. Many artists are insecure to experiment a new genre and fall into the repetition trap. So if Tison boys feel inspired by house music, let it be! i will not trash them for that!

I enjoyed listening to this album, but i wouldn't go any further than that! i will not say i loved it.
eventhough i am a big fan of vocals, i didn't really like any of vocals used in this album. I think it's a nice album for an afternoon party, for easy listening.
